What size tires for 99 cobras

I bought a set of 99 cobra(17x9)wheels and was wondering what other guys with the hub swap and mustang rims are running. I have all the parts for the complete hub swap(front and rear). The wheels will be going on my 98 Mark at stock ride height. I read that 275's are fine in the rear but what do you run up front.

I'm confident of 275/40/17 on the rears. I believe the fronts can handle 245/45/17.

I want to get as close to the stock diameter as possible. Kumho has 285/40/17 rear and 255/45/17 both of these are 26.0 diameter. Does it seem like 285 would fit in the rear?

That may be exceeding the limit with stock offset rims. Recommended rim width becomes an issue after a while as well.

If you could find a willing tire shop to do some experimenting, I'd do that if you're going to the max.
