Omg how fast were you going, any damage?

WHAT???!!!
How did that happen? On the highway and you only need new studs to be back on the road? Seems like there would be more damage to me.
Glad nobody was hurt.

I think we need more info on this.

Well, I was driving about 80MPH in the left lane when the rear started to vibrate violently and I heard a loud bang. I felt the rear come out from behind me and I thought I lost the wheel completely. I coasted to the breakdown lane and got out to check the damage. 3 of the 5 studs were broken off and missing and the remaining 2 were so loose that the wheel was hanging ready to go.

Had the car towed to Worcester to a garage where I used to work and they let me do the work so I would'nt have to pay labor. As the driver was pulling it up on the flat bed, the lugs came off and the wheel fell off. No damage to the wheel well, brakes, or rear bumper thankfully. Except for the already rotted backing plate.

I must have forgot to completely tighten the wheel when I had them off last about a month ago. I replaced the studs and lugs and it was fine the rest of the weekend. Got to see Grave Digger in action at the DCU Center!

Damage? :(

Well at least you're alright, and your brave car gave you a warning before completely failing. She needs a reward.

The only damage was the studs and the mounting holes on the wheels. And my pride because I was the last one to have those wheels off.

No sir. All fixed up that day. Had to replace the studs and nuts. Never actually fell on to the rotor thankfully.

So what hit the ground? Something had to, or the rotor hit the inside of the rim.
