Which is the correct temp thermostat?

I have researched previous posts and been to the parts store and still cannot determine which temp thermostat came standard on the 1994 Mark VIII. I will know when I change it out but I was wanting to get the parts in advance. Oreilly's sells a 195 degree and a (Motorcraft) 180 degree. Anyone know for sure what came standard and whether or not I would want to install another temp instead? I live in southern Indiana and this car is an unmodified daily driver.

Thanks, Fife

You need the Motorcraft F3LY-8575-A. It is rated at 180 to 190 degree.

A NON OEM 195 will make it run toward the high end of the gauge and you're gas mileage will suffer.

There are a few vendors on this site that can get you one that is less expensive than from a dealer and also without having to buy the o-ring separately.
