White Supercharged Update

Here are some of the latest pics. Progress has been slow going lately due to a busy schedule. We will plumb in all of the intercooler piping this week/weekend. I finally got me bead roller so we can roll the pipe ends. The intercooler is a 4" thick 12" X 24" core. Should be good enough for 700rwhp. After we get tired of running the S trim we want to be able to slap a 76GTS turbo on the car and not have to upgrade anything. We welded the mounting tabs today and will have the intercooler permantly mounted this afternoon. once we get the intercooler piping on we will isntall the fuel cell and fuel system, and then head to the dyno for tuning. I am confident we can hit 500rwhp with pump gas and less than 12psi.

Also in the pics you can see the unfinished bumper aluminum bumper support. This pieces willcut a lot of weight off the car and allowed for a larger intercooler to be installed. Bumper modifications to divert additional air into the intercooler will also be needed. These will be added lately.

The last couple pics in this directory are of the intercooler

RE: White Supercharged Update

looks good!
any reason that you didnt put the bell ends back on the cobra short runner intake? (or am i just not seeing it right?)

RE: White Supercharged Update

Joe, what's the deal with the fuel system on that car ? I need some ideas ... I truly hate the basket pickup in 2nd gens.

RE: White Supercharged Update

I am unsure which intake you are talking about. The one on the car has the shortened runners in the intake. There is another intake we have been working on that has all of the runner taken out while it is getting ported and polished. ??

We will be cutting the sump out for the spare tire well and covering it up with riveted 14ga aluminum. We will mount the 14 gallon fuel cell underneath the plate. We will fabricate a new aluminum filling tube and install it so we can still fill the car from the gas cap. keeping the cell like this will avoid a lot of headaches with the NHRA if we race it later on.

The aeromotive A1000 will be mounted on the side of the fuel cell with the pickup at the rear sump. 100 micron filter before the pump 10 micron after the pump, -10 all the way up to the front. Aeromotive FPR will be used with -6 return.

RE: White Supercharged Update

Can you tell me where you got your tubular crossmember and how much it cost and if you got new arms with it....well everything about your front suspension. I want to set my mark up like that and haven't seen anything remotely similar to what you have.

Also how much modification did it require to install. Was it bolt up or did you have to do alot of fabrication work?

Thanks

RE: White Supercharged Update

the K member bolts right up. You can purchase them from AJE. Be very careful about getting anything from this company though. This is the third K member i have had in the second car. If anything goes wrong you are on your own, they will not offer any support.
You are looking at $1000 for a setup like this.

RE: White Supercharged Update

Joe, is there any way I could sump the stock fuel tank ? Isn't it made of plastic ?

RE: White Supercharged Update

Nope, not that I can think of. It is made of plastic so you are F'd.

Intercooler piping is all finished. I talked to John this afternoon and he informed me that he is now working on the air tank for the suspension. I will be getting a fuel cell and lines in the next couple days. When I get back into town I will have some pics of the intercooler piping.

RE: White Supercharged Update

I just got back from the garage and it's defnitely steel, at least on the 97 ... Not sure about the clearance issues since it's already somewhat low ...

RE: White Supercharged Update

Hmm that is something that the Gen 2's have different than the gen 1's. If you were to sump it I would definatly install two sumps, on on each side. Tee the suction into both so the pump will never run out of fuel even on slight turns. A 1" sump should be enough, and shouldn't hang down too much.

RE: White Supercharged Update

Fuel cell is in as well as the lines. Everything will be put in this weekend. Car is going on a SERIOUS diet. John stated that the only necessity is the a/c and powersteering.

RE: White Supercharged Update

Joe, did you guys take any pics of the intercooler tubing routing ? Did you go with 3" ?

RE: White Supercharged Update

yes and yes. While I am at home now I will not be able to get the pics up till tomorrow niight or friday.

RE: White Supercharged Update

Car is almost togeather. We worked on it for 3 days straight nonstop 12 hours a day. The fuel cell is mounted, battery relocated, we removed around 325lbs from the car, the piping is complete, the air tank is plumbed in and working. Car is running REALLY well.
I will post pics next time I am back home.
Hopefully we will get it tuned weekend after next. 500rwhp here we come.

Dibs on a ride. ;)

RE: White Supercharged Update

You got it man! Did you ever send that intake? I just talked to john and he said it has not came yet....??

RE: White Supercharged Update

I need to take some more pics, but here are the latest. Everything is jsut about done. I will not be here next weekend so we will take it and tune it weekend after next.
Everything is dirty and needs a lot of cleanup. A lot of finishing touches need to be done as well, but everything is functional.

RE: White Supercharged Update

I am thinking the car weights in around 3300 right now fueled up. We need to get about 300 more pounds out of it. It is definatly doable but will take some coin. This car will be a serious street sleeper soon.
