White Supercharged Update

RE: White Supercharged Update

Out of curiosity, what's the tank in front of the fuel cell?

What is the capacity of the fuel cell?

I think you're gonna have to do some carbon fiber work to get another 300 pounds off the weight!

RE: White Supercharged Update

Holy crap you guys are going off the board. Thanks for the great posts, looking forward to seeing you soon. Are you worried about water getting in your trunk.LOL :D :D :D

What trunk? Oh, the liquid luggage rack with the hinged cover? :D LOL

RE: White Supercharged Update

We will get 300 out without exotic materials. Will we tell anyone how we did it? Probably not. Will anyone we race be able to tell, absolutly not, unless they really look under the car.

The trunk is being covered this week. The 18ga aluminum is here now. We are shearing and bending it today. The tank in front of the fuel cell is the air tank for the airbags.

We will knock off AT LEAST 150lbs on the rear end alone in the next couple of months. A ladder bar and solid axle is going in with lightweight brakes and aluminum pumpkin.
60lbs worth of seats are comming out as well.

The other 150 will be tight but doable. Car will retain Power steering, airconditioning, and heater. Race seats will be the only thing that will look out of the ordinary.

RE: White Supercharged Update

are those four metal tabs all that's supporting the fuel tank?

RE: White Supercharged Update

Did you add for the rollcage yet? I was going to bend mine this weekend so I can finish cutting out the structural crap that is in the way. I was out of town so I have some catching up to do. I am not as far along as you yet. But my pile Scrap is growing.
I am going to sell the S-Trim and intercooler and go to a JT and build a 3 core intercooler.
Joe we should chat and compare some notes.

This car will definatly win some money.

Keith, There is not a cage yet. WHY go to a JT??? Just get some kooks turbo headers and plum up a turbo. I will look for you on AIM... You get that stroker shortblock back yet????

No there is more there than meets the eye. Those 4 tabs have 1/4 gusssets and there are two large tabs in the rear. I stood on the fuel cell in the car to make sure it would hold the weight. It took 200bs and never budged.

RE: White Supercharged Update

The shortblock is on the engine stand waiting for the heads and short runner intake manifold.

OK, it's been over a month. Where are you at on the project? Inquiring minds and demented gear heads want to know!!!

RE: White Supercharged Update

Well it is about time for an update. The car has been running for a while. However we have not got it to the dyno yet or on the scales.

Looks like the weekend after labor day is when we will dyno the car. We will be kicked off the track very shortly after that for running too fast w/o a cage.

We are running 295/50/16" street tires on the car with custom rims and billit spacers. They are a super tight fit. We have the moroso 1/2" hardned wheel studs with a .609knurl.

Also running 2.5" SS exhaust right off hte header into dual 3" then right passed the tranny tailshaft we merge into single 4" and exit out the back of the car with 4" exhaust.
The car sounds really good!!

I think we shaved 475lbs off of the car. I think we are in the 3300-3350 range even with the supercharger. The car acts totally different. I do not feel like going into what all we did to take weight out of the car, but it retains the stock looking interior and exterior. A couple no brainer items taken out of the car are:

airride compressor, sensors, wiring
ABS motor, wiring, sensors
all the sound deadening material
fuel tank
Lots of metal
Lots of copper wiring.

I will get some pics up and dyno sheets asap.

Looking for 525rwhp on 11-12psi and 10.99 on the first day racing.

RE: White Supercharged Update

I just looked over those old pics in this thread, and I just realized how much we have cleaned that mess up the last couple weeks.

RE: White Supercharged Update

Way to go Joe!! One question - are you going to put the calipers and rotors on or are you just going to rely on the parachute? :)

RE: White Supercharged Update

the car is not near fast enough for a chute. We are going to need another 25mph in the 1/4 mile to need a chute.

RE: White Supercharged Update

I keep looking at the trunk pics and visualizing the exhaust turning up into the trunk to run twin 57 turbos and blowoff valves purging out botom of trunk, with a CoolWrapped 3" air intake pipe and braided oil lines running underneath the car back up into the engine compartment to the stock location. The turbos don't care were they are, they run off the exhaust. Somone would look under the hood and not know youre packing a 900HP twin turbo setup in the trunk. I still think one would hear the turbo whine in the trunk when youe blowing past him, but by then it would be toooo late. Nothing a little Dynamat and styrofoam couldn't handle ;-)
I'm still sold and saving on the Kenne Bell 2.2 setup, or I'd start pricing the "junk in the trunk" option.

RE: White Supercharged Update

No new pics of it??? I'd personally like to see it destroying a pair of tires...or warming up a set of sticky's.

And for the twin hair dryer setup...go for it. I've always wanted a twin turbo mark viii. Also the Kenne Bell 2.2 setup is awesome but pricy.

RE: White Supercharged Update

Yeah, get the new buttoned up pics of it posted! and start a new thread of "part II white supercharger". This one takes too long to load every time it loads due to the pics. lol
Yeah the KB is super expensive, but will be worth the wait while I'm saving for it. I think the 2 turbo option in trunk would be sweet, but not an option for me. You could even run the air intake into the air conditioned cabin for 60 degree cool air on a 90 degree day if there was a way to silence the howl of the engine you would hear sucking air through a conical. Only thing is you can't run the A/C at the track or you'll get the blanket party. hehe
