RE: Whoever has opened their Headlight Housing
I had mine opened up a while back when my swing down gear motors for the foglights burned out...(they stuck halfway down) so i yanked them, left the brackets for later, I cut out four square holes and was running PIAA driving lights in the headlight buckets for low and high beams. Got sick of dust and crap getting in there...because i left the back open for heat dispersal. got sick of cleaning, and bought a new set of stockers from Max at Five Star. It can be done and looks wayy cool mounted behind the stock plastic. It will work for daily driving, and a quick fix, but IMO it isnt worth it...go with some new stockers...there bright at night and will last for at least two years...just eat the bill, and call it regular 60,000 mile maintenance.
When you have them separated and polished both sides, you could go get the backside replated chrome, which will fix the prob, but with all that the price for new ones far outweigh the labor and replating charges...
