will 255's fit

I need new tires come spring, and with a 3200 stall and 4.10's, 225's ain't gonna cut it. I want 255/50/16's.

I was thinking of these:

Firehawk SZ50's. I want to go with 255's because it's more tire and it's closer to the stock diameter than 245's. I plan on putting them on all 4 corners, so that my traction control is still functional. Will i have a problem with them rubbing anywhere?

Isn't stock 225/60/16? That's 8.86" wide and 26.63" diameter(depending on manufacturer).

You want 255/50/16 at 10.04" wide and 26.04" diameter.

A 245/55/16 comes closer to stock diameter at 26.6" while being slightly narrower than the 255's measuring 9.64" in width while being wider than stock.

I know others have posted the 245/55/16 fitting with no issues, but I'm not sure on the 255's. Some manufacturer's tires may clear, some may not. I have seen a lot of variance with the same size tire between manufacturers.

Every once in a while, the envelope is pushed so much it can only be verified through trial and error. I just had new meats put on my F250. I wanted BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO's. Stock is 235/85/16. Optional was 255/85/16(Firestone's). I had previously installed 265/75/16(GoodYear's). I wanted 285/75/16(BFG's). The dealer had left in stock a set of 295/75/16 and it would be a week to get the 285's(Thanksgiving). I'm not that patient. The 295's fit fine with just a tuck or two to clear the front OEM plastic mudflaps lock to lock.;)

My point is, at that size, IMHO even if someone posts Brand X fits with no issues, the Firehawk SZ50's may not.:( Or if they post Brand X does not fit, the Firehawk SZ50's may be just fine.:)

Why would the TC be affected by the tires?

RE: will 255's fit

I have my friends wheels and tires on the car right now, on the front are 225/60's and on the back are 245/50's. The backs are slightly smaller (in circumference) than the front and thus spin slightly faster. Any wheelspin at all, sometimes i don't even have to spin the wheels, and the traction control kicks in hard. Half the time, when it kicks in, even if i'm going straight and not spinning the tires, it won't go off. It'll cut in so hard that i can floor it and lose speed. It thinks they're still spinning because the rears spin slightly faster than the fronts.

RE: will 255's fit

I'm running 255 BFG drag radials on the back of my Mark. I have to turn off my TC every time I drive. It did the same thing when I was running stock sized tires all around.
