When I got my 1998 Mark VIII, the drivers side door window was busted out.

I know I will need to drill out some rivets and use shallow bolts and loctight to install it, but can someone post the normal removal and installation procedure?

I would not be so lost if the old window was intact, but I want to be sure the new one gets installed correctly.

Thanks much.

Once you get the door panel off, at the top of the window sill on the inside of the door, lift the antirattle piece. (Just lift it up) go to the bottom of the glass, and you will see two bolts that hold (held) the glass on the regulator assy. If you raise the window just a bit you can line up bolts with holes on the inside of the door. Remove the two nuts and the remainder of the glass. Reassemble in the opposite order. If you dont have to remove the regulator, dont.

K, thanks, sounds easy enough.

I got the new glass in yesterday, and going on friday to get the new hardware (ie, nuts and bolts).

Thanks a lot, if I got any more questions I will ask.

I found some short nuts and bolts here at the house and decided to do this today.

First of all, I want to say that it is a LOT easier to do this than when I had to do it in my Cutlass Supreme.

Since my old window was busted out, I just removed the trim from the top of the door, and was able to raise the motor high enough out the top that I could use a grinding wheel to get the old rivets off. That alone made it a LOT easier to get the job done.

After that, I put it back down, dropped the window in place, and got the new nuts and bolts on.

It took me less than 10 minutes to get the new window installed, and adjusted and working like new again.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Here it is back together.
