windshield wiper and fluid

I'm not sure where to start looking, my windshield wipers work fine but the wiper fluid won't come out. I haven't drove the car in about 4 months so I thought maybe the fluid evaporated or had left deposits in the motor. I filled it up just to make sure it had fluid but no fluid is making its way to the blades. Nothing is coming on the message center indicating low fluid. Is there a relay under the hood that connects to the motor? where is the motor for it?

RE: windshield wiper and fluid

When I bought my car, the washer did not work. It was under warranty, so I took it to the dealer. They said that the washer bottle was so far from the pump that sometimes you have to hold the switch on a long time to get it to work. It worked when I got it back and I have never had the problem again. This was 1997 when I took it to the dealer.

I've tried holding the button in but I've been told that if you do that for too long and the pump is dry that it will burn the pump up. I'm wondering if there is a blockage somewhere in the line.
