98 mark VIII...The wipers will not turn off unless I shut the car down and then try again. They do go into high mode, regular mode but no Int mode. Any and all help is always appreciated.

Not sure if this will help.
Just after I bought my Mark the wipers would not lower to the off possition, But they would stop.

I unplugged the battery when I reconnected it reset them. They have worked fine ever since.

Sounds like you have a different problem, but it can't hurt to try.

Possibly your multi function switch is malfunctioning... Which is a pain on a gen II because the steering wheel has to come off for replacement.

I am told by a friend that repacing the wiper motor would take care of the problem. Sounds to easy of a sollution. Any thoughts?

I just went through the same problem as you did. I replaced the multi switch to find that the wipers kept running. I just put in a new motor and it corrected the problem. My only problem is that my motor seems to be rather noisy when 'parking'
