Words of Wisdom / Warning

If any of you folks bracket race your mark 8, then heed this warning.

you MUST let your competition win once in a while.
If you do not "lay down" and let them win, then.. before long they'll stop coming.

example:
Tiff started racing in the Jackpot Class at LoneStar raceway park.
when she started racing in Jackpot there were 20 or so cars that would enter the class every week.
After a couple of months of their "trailer cars" getting pounded by a 100lb female driving a Lincoln, they just began to "not show up".

It got to the point where Jackpot consisted of only 4 cars, and those cars were "crossovers" from the existing "street stock class".

The same thing happened in the street stock class that I was racing in, but it wasn't "as bad" as in Jackpot, Street Stock still had 11-20 cars showing up for the race.

The track owner got tired of "Tiffany Killing Them ALL" week after week and implemented a "guaranteed $400.00 to win" in the Jackpot Race. At the first race after the guaranteed 400 dollars..
TIFF WON.

It wasn't two weeks later that the track owner CLOSED THE TRACK!

We beat em all,Now..the track is closed!
*POOF*
I was 90 points in the lead in Street Stock Points and the track owner told me to "F*CK OFF, your not getting the trophy OR the Jacket that you've been racing for ALL SEASON LONG".x( x( xo

So you've been warned, you MUST let your opponents WIN atleast some of the time, otherwise..
the same thing might happen to you!

Luckily that track was only 1 out of 5 tracks within 100 miles!!!
So.. all is NOT LOST

Congrats... I think? ::roll::

Yeah... I'm pretty bummed about the place closing.

I was told by the new/ex-owner that the track was closed due to low car count and him losing money...

1: We doubled the car count.
2: How can you profit in only 3 months? Especially when you owe money on the property! ::wtf::

Hopefully the real owner who still owns the place, enjoyed his "paid vacation" and will open the track back up when he's ready. I learned alot from him and miss him dearly. ;(

RE: Words of Wisdom / Warning

The guy that bought the track put 200,000 dollars down on an 800,000 dollar property which was owner financed.

He ran the place for 5-6 months and threw in the towel because he said "he wasn't making a profit".

As tiff said.. how can you expect to make a profit on a property that you owe 600,000 dollars on?

He paid rougly 50,000 on the note in the 5 months he had possesion of the track.

SO..the "real owner" got 200,000 + 50,000.. a 5 month well paid vacation and.. still owns the property. what a deal.. huh?

So, we're praying he'll come back and open our track so the Lincoln Domination can continue, but it doesnt seem that's going to happen for the 2005 season.

We're hoping for him to re-open in the 2006 season!

If not.. one of the other tracks in the area said they would "start up" a street stock program for "US"..which is very cool!

Either way.. We'll be racing in the 2006 season even if Lone Star doesnt re-open the gates.
WE WILL NOT BE DENIED!!
HAHA

RE: Words of Wisdom / Warning

Screw that, I don't ever plan on letting my competition win. If winning means the track will be shut down, then dammit, I'm shutting down the track:)

By the way, good job guys!
