I looked at this car today for Isacc. Its a 97 with 114K. Typical issues (Neon out, cruise control inop, no air bags, etc) The guy wants 3500 bucks for it. Body seems pretty straight except for the scratch/scrape on the right front lower part of the door.

Also, Im posting this because I want to see if Im posting pics correctly. Been on here for nearly 3 years and still cant figure it out. LOL!

Listing it for 35, and willing to barter a bit would put it pretty much in range. Nicely equiped and the right colors for the good and Rust belt area for the bad. What does the evap tray look like?

To me, the coilover conversion and this crease in the door are deal-breakers. It doesn't make sense for me to get a new door onto the island, and I require air suspension. Nor am I all that interested in paying a body man pound that crease out and reconstruct the contours of the door:

No way.

No way.

deduct 1000.00 for the springs
500.00 for the door

Plus one on that response. No way anything over 1200.00 even though its an LSC. Its got rust, damage, milage, shot airride, and other possible unknowns. No way for 3500 or 3000. Walk away. There tons better out there.
That door repair alone would be over 500.00 at bodyshop if you didnt replace the whole thing for 250.00. Im sure some would love to have those mud gaurds though. There rare find.

Omg, wrong wheels and they still pit them on backwards!!! :)

3500 is a bit steep IMHO, if you can get it for 2500 or less I'd do it. Really depends on why it was converted from bags....

lol, i said the same thing about the wheels.

Ans we are talking just about cosmetic things here. How is the engine and transmission?

Neon out, no CC, no air ride, body damage, real window molding looks bad, headlights look bad. Wrong rims. No way i would pay $3,500. $2,200 if it ran well mechanically.

lol well you guys seem to forget that mark VIII pricing has pretty much bottomed out with the "average running car" pricing.

If it runs/passes smog etc. Its worth 2000
If the paint is good add 500
if is a luxury car add 500
so ... i'd say its worth 3000, the interior is seems to be in great shape for that age.

The car seemed to run smooth while I was talking to the owner. I didnt drive it and didnt think to check out the evap tray. The owner was also in some sort of hurry possibly to get back to work so I didnt want to inconvenience him any more than I already was . My father caught it right away and said the guy had to be a used car salesman by the way he talked and come to find out he used to work at one of the shadiest car dealers in central Mass years ago. :p I was thinking in the range of 2200-2500 maybe but no more than that if I was in the market.

The wheels gotta go too. definately Continental wheels. On backwards to boot.

He also had a lower control arm in the trunk and said that someone mis diagnosed a noise as a bad ball joint, but it was just the torsion bar bushing that goes throught the lower arm. There was no0 spare tire cover (maybe because there was an old chrome 10 spoke wheel and tire in the tire well)

He told me that he drives it back and forth to Boston every day but needs something a little smaller to park in the lots near his work.

Besides the body work, neon, headlights, various scrathes and dings, wheels, window molding, and coil over conversion, I thought the interior was in pretty nice shape for black on black.

Thats true, I guess 3K isn't bad. Just used to seeing alot cleaner marks bodywise/damage and rust free down here for less. It is an LSC so yeah its worth fixing. Just grab another drivers door, paint, and dont try fixing it, reworks always show with age through the paint. Replace the part if you can and repaint, dont fix. I got two 2nd gen LSCs if you need parts for it, but im sure you can get cheaper up there and not pay shipping for the big things. Post pics when you start cleaning it up and replacing if you buy it.

i just got this one owner high miles 98 lsc for $1,350 cash. i even got in it and drove it back to florida from north carolina without a problem after it sat in a garage for 6 months untouched.
needs a strut, still has working air ride. needs tires which i have, and a ballast for the neon. $1,350

i still have to clean the carpet but thats the least of my worries with a wife and 2 kids ready to destroy it!
the car came with 10 spokes, i just put the octastars on to see if i liked it better.

nope i went through all the trouble of buying it, buying 2 plane tickets and driving it back 610 miles for my wife to enjoy. it replaced her 93. i dont want to sell it, unless it was an offer i couldnt refuse!
