Look how the riders body smashed the tank......

I would advise your friend to take those pictures off Facebook....I'd imagine the dead rider's family would love to make some money from the police department.

He has alot of picture of wrecks.

How is that, it is on public road taken with his own cell phone it looks like. And wouldn't the accident investigation photos be public record anyway?

aside from the drinking part....that is the only thing that has kept me from buying a bike. I mean one screw up by another person or yourself and you are pretty screwed.

well i hope i dont upset anyone here, but after moving to florida, and seeing the whole biker attitude down here i do not feel sorry for any accidents i see like this, and you would cry if you saw how many happen, no joke its horrible how many bike accidents there are, and the way i see these jerkoffs ride here in florida they all deserve it when they wipe out. the crotch rockets squeezing between cars and weaving in and out of traffic, the bikers who hammer on the harley,s so everyone can hear the loud pipes, the amount of bikers that get sloshed at the dirt hole bars they hang at then jump on their bikes and fly down the road, the amount of motorcycle accidents in florida is staggering. and 9 out of 10 accidents here are the bikers fault, yet everyone has the " look twice save a life, motorcycles are everywhere " stickers. gimme a break, we look twice, but the bikers dont look at all. i dont have respect for bikers, at least not in florida. too many bikes and too many bars here. lots of alcoholics in this state.

It's taken on a public road, by an Officer of the law who is held up to a higher standard who had chosen to post pictures of a dead man's collision scene on Facebook...what is there to defend about that?

Yeah, the dead people I take pictures of...anyone can come in and get a copy. Come on Steve...seriously? If you were a newly married father of a newborn baby who's wife just got smoked by a DUI, would you want to see pictures of your wifes body, smashed and mangled, arm hanging on by some tendents, mouth open with blood coming out of her open eyes? Yeah...sorry to go all extreme, but that's the last fatal I went to and I'd be pissed if someone posted pictures of her car all over the internet without my consent. Oh..the baby was in the car too, barely survived. To think if those pictures were "public record".

I did not say it was in good taste, just arguing the legality of it. I don't see any body parts in the photos anyway.

man some parts of being a cop sound like it can be a fun and interesting job.....but parts like this make me glad I'm not one. I know stuff like that must get somewhat routine and you get desensitized but its gotta take something out of you. Ugh just the though of the scene you just described makes me sick thinking about it.

Im with you Jamie 100%

I take the Harley out for spin like twice a month and dont act like an ass.
Do not like to drink and drive on the bike. Will not do it. The thought of me being road kill is not going to happen.

Seen a bunch of bad fatals when I was a tow truck driver years ago but not so many here as a police officer. There has been a couple but I just happened to be off duty or they were in other towns. We had a tourist riding her bicycle with her family fall under the wheels of a semi loaded with concrete (RIP) last year and there were rumors that the incident was caught on camera by a passing Transit Authority bus. The media (vultures) were clamering trying to get a hold of it but the state police squashed that idea real quick. I would NEVER even think of posting pics from a fatal crash anywhere on line. Unless of course I was tired of living in my house and going to work every day.
