I want to buy some HIDS for my 95 mark 8 let me know if you have a pair you would like to sell or know where i can get some thanks

You're better off getting an aftermarket HID conversion kit. Same light output for 1/10th the price after all is said and done.

yeah but my light housings are complete ****, there is no reflecting stuff or anything, it looks like its rusting, so i need new housings.

send me your housings and i will restore them to new condition inside and out for $80, then you can install an $80 dollar hid kit off ebay and be into it for about the same price you will pay for one used factory hid bulb. i have restored tons of factory halogen housings from these cars. i dont use spray paint inside the housings, i use a adhesive backed chrome metal sheet, its paper thin but is real metal, and the heat doesnt seem to touch it. here are some pics, most of the bubbles you see in the pic of the new chrome go away after i use a heat gun just before i put the lenses back on, they really do come out awesome....

wow thats amazing could u pm me your address and i will get this stuff shipped out

That is a good deal...I didn't know Jamie was charging so little for that. I'll vouch for him and his work. Plus, if anything goes wrong, he'll work with you.

Both my Mark VIIIs have HIDs, but if I were to get another with bad headlamps, I would buy new housings and install HIR bulbs all around with relay kits.

I used to roll this way, but with the price of HID kits dropping to under $50, I can't see any reason not to go that route.

Why do you prefer HIR over HID JP?

yeah but the HIR's are so hot you would kill the new housing chrome in no time at all.

HIR bulbs supposedly operate cooler than halogen bulbs of the same wattage due to the Infra-red Reflecting properties of the bulb.

The OEM housings didn't disintegrate overnight, they generally lasted several years depending upon use. When I bought my '93 in 2000, a simple polish of the exterior with new SilverStar bulbs extended the life for a couple more years before the interior was toasted. I would go out on a limb and say HIRs would at least match OEM life expectancy in new housings.

IMHO, no one has been using these retrofit kits for a long enough period to quantify life expectancy.

yeah but if you buy new halogen housings look at the date they were made, they are years old. i have used hir's in my 1st 93 i had in the low beam socket, and in my black 93 in the high beam side with hid's in the low beam, i didnt care for them any more then 9005 halogen bulbs, but thats just my opinion, and logres is right, with hid's so cheap now, why would anyone want incandescent bulbs, its old news to use them, thats why everyone has gone to flourescent bulbs in their house, they are cool running, use very little power, and last for ever. dont mind me i'm just in a pissy mood!

Fluorescent bulbs suck! Incandescent bulbs rule!

Every fluorescent bulb or fixture I have tried pale in comparison to incandescent light output. Compact fluorescent bulbs are a joke.

LEDs are the future of lighting. :p

Thanks guys I am going to have jamie clean my lights and then i am going to buy one of those kits:)

'Cause I am suspect of the longevity of cheap HID kits.

When Wal-Mart starts to sell them, that will be proof. :p

had mine in the vette for almost 2 yrs now (Mark VIII would use the same 9005 kit). 0 problems. best $110 (at the time) that i spent on lighting ever.
