WTB: non working 97-98 HID bulb

I'm waiting for my new set to come in...hopefully be here by Friday. You can have my one bad one after that.....Why would I charge you for a non-functioning bulb????? Just tell me what you plan to do with it?

I will also have one by or before wednesday of next week. I'm switching everything over and one is out.

good to use as a template for making adapter rings for after market hid's. i have a bad bulb, but thats why i didnt answer this, lol im going to keep it to make adapter rings.

So you're saying you can make an adapter ring from the old bulb or use the bulb as a template? If you can make adapter rings for sale you'd have some ready clients here for sure. As long as we can use the existing ballast and just need to use the adapter and an aftermarket bulb... SUUWEEEEET!

you cant use the factory ballast for any after market bulb at all. the mark VIII uses an ac ballast like a shop light in your garage. everyone else uses dc power ballasts like a normal car uses, thats why sylvania's bulbs were so rediculous to buy. there is already a person out there making adapter rings for the 96-98 housings. i'm just keeping mine to make some for myself to have, trust me, there would be no money in making rings to sell to people, unless you like working for free, because the time it would take to make some nice ones worth selling, no one would ever pay the labor you'd have into them!!

Other way around Jamie, the Linc's outputted DC to the bulbs, everyone else AC...

a guy by the name mafioso on lvc has aluminum machined adapter rings, the gen 2 requires a different set. I have the second set ever produced through him (for a gen 2) and will be installing them later today or by wednesday of this week.

He will sell just the rings not to mention he is a very nice guy to speak with on the telehpone and he has a top notch kit on which he offers lifetime warranty.

The same guy is also working with ford right now to get on the greenlist of aftermarket parts vendors, when/if this happens he will be producing 10,000 rings (5,000 sets) which will be available through the dealer.

Yes you can make your own stuff and piece something together cheaper but i like my car, i take care of it, and i want only the best for it. Right now, this is the best for it. I could make some adapter rings out of plexiglass/plastic or something, but then they could warp or break since its plastic basically. If i went to a machine shop it would cost hundreds of dollars and who knows how much time of r & d to get it just right. Fractions of an inch off in the base, even a 1/32 multiplyed by hundreds of feet make a big difference on where that beam of light goes. So what he's asking for the adapters isnt much at all considering he has already been through all this (as jamie pointed out wouldnt be worth it otherwise) and the best part of it all is you can take off your good stuff and hock it on ebay for about the cost of the kit and now your bulbs are readily available 9006 hid's.

Its a very nice kit and he's spent months working on the correct focal point for both gen 1's and gen 2's.

Pictures will follow.
