WTH is wrong with the tune for my car!

So I have a SCT X3 with a 91 octane tune written for the Mark Viii, when I use the 91 tune my alt only puts out 12.2 v at 70 and 11.8 at idle which makes the car do stupid things. Now if I return it to the stock tune the alt puts out 13.9 at all speeds. So I do the logical thing and run it with the stock tune till I can get this figured out. And I want to figure this out because with the tune the car is a beast! Any ideas as to what can be causing the oddity?

I'm told it was done by blue oval chips but I did not buy the tuner from them I got it from another member here with the same car

The programmer should have the "dealer info" on it. If it was BOC, contact Lonnie and I am sure he would help.

The only possibility I can think of is the cooling fan is commanded to come on earlier and the fan is drawing too much juice.

The cooling fan should come on full with the MAX AC on. Try it and see what the voltage is?

exactly my first impression as well.

BUT this isn't a problem with the tune, this is a problem with the fan pulling too much current and or the alt not keeping up with the fan running on high.

dont blame the tuner, or the tuner.

hell, you night check on the x-3, It might be able to adjust the fan temp on the device.

I'll check the temp that the fan is to come on but I don't think it's the problem but I'll look I'm also going to call Lonnie on Monday

Step up to a 130 amp cobra alt.

Its a known good tune right?
Also a known good tuner.

I think your stock alt might be giving you issues.

Just a thought out of the box.
