The burn counter needs to go away. It should be up to the company or person if and when they want to run an update.
I agree, completely.
I'm pretty sure this whole screwed up scene happened because of the problems they were having with Vista...
Bad thing is.. the updates affect everyone, even those that aren't running that crappy new OS...
Coupled with them wanting to eliminate the PRP users from "exporting LL3 and XTR" files.
Both of which I have "no use for"....
YET.. they want to break my software to keep me from "maybe exporting an LL3 file".
I really dont understand that whole scenario.. I mean.. LL3's are LOCKED FILES..
What difference would it make if one was exported...especially since "I" an writing my own tunes.
I know they are having some issues with "some users" like "that guy" you were telling me about..
IF that is the case, then they should "disable his dongle".. or turn off HIS racer code.
Instead of crippling the software for "everyone", which makes no sense whatso ever.
That burn counter really pisses me off... actually.
I paid for my license, I signed the EULA, why should/would they care if I reburn my chip 100 times or a 1000 times.
The "tool" I spoke to at SCT last week said "no one" should use up 100 burns.
WTF? I have no datalogging solution, so I have to use "trial and error" with my tune.
Consider the 900 or so parameters in PRP.. and I can EASILY burn up 100 burns in less than a month.
I probably put 500 burns on my chip in the first 6 months.. trial and error.
