Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

A Bass Mekanic CD I bought last year comes with a whole extra cd of a ton of test tones and stuff. I lot of fun to show off the system. However, that cd just got stolen from me 2 weeks ago, grr.

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

Should work now.

I'll host up a couple others if anyone wants. I got :unlimitedbandwidth: and since I'll be wanting to make a good cd of these types of tracks I might as well share it with my Mark VIII homies.

Peace

Only time i tested my system was when i entered a competition as a freshman in college. with my 1 12" solobaric driven by an old-school punch 200x2 (before punch was a best-buy brand) i hit 133 db. However i think a lot of that came from my mids, because the peak was well into the midrange. I have my car set up for sound quality, bass isn't too big a concern, as long as it's enough to support the music i'm playing at whatever volume my mids and highs can reach.

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

yeah, ive made a cd with heavy bass tracks as well as a sine wave or 2 and its always nice to play around with. im really gonna have fun when this ported box is finished.

ignore the user/pass box... sorry.... problem w/my isp.

... someone got in my space and ripped the isp for 180gigs of file transfer... no skin off my back though... ;)

Your finally putting in a ported box? FINALLY!

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

yeah, it took me a while but im making one as we speak. im gonna do a little afternoon hockey then come home and finish cutting these pieces. im up to my 5th sheet of mdf now since i missed up on the slot sizes. after i make these last few cuts, all ill have to do is some predrilling, apply the silicone, then screw this thing together and then give it a try. im kind of cautious about it all though since my amp doesnt have a subsonic filter.

heres my box btw. http://www.edesignaudio.com/im2/boxcuts/12 rec vented.jpg

man i wish i had a table saw for this. trying to keep my cuts straight with what ive got is a pain.

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

Thats one hell of a complex box. The most complex ported I ever did was with a 12" long 4"diameter PVC pipe. I wonder how that box would do for my Treo 12.

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

email them. ive heard their customer service is ok from time to time. which treo do u have? i know their top and the line just below that are supposed to be pretty damn good. the solo and type r are ok at best in comparison.

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

I have the SS (Street Series). Last year it was just under the top of the line, but I think theres a new model and its now second down. I know for 1 - 12" DVC (2ohm) was $320 ish.

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

keep the treo. email them and find out box sizes. i think theyre supposed to run well in smaller enclosures but i could have them confused with something else. i bet if u used the plans i posted above, youd be very satisfied. i just finished building it and sealing it up, i just need to go pick up some wiring and hook it up.

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

Let me know the thumpage on it when you finish. I will call them tommarow as they are based in Omaha, NE here, and see what they recomend, and I will post what they say.

Keep the treo

heh, the local pawn shop has my identical treo for sale. 1-12" DVC SS 2 ohm not in a box or enclosure or anything for $249. Wow, although it did cost $320 last year new.

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

OK, they gave me a spec sheet for the sub and it had this listed on it: Mean anything to anyone?? Or any recomendations? I know a little about subs and boxes but am not sure what the F3 stuff is. And a 16 SQin vent? That would be like a 2"x8" rectangle or 4"x4" sq vent?

Sealed:
1.1 ft^3 - F3=35Hz
1.35 ft^3 - F3=34Hz

Vented:
1.75 ft^3 NET F3=28Hz
16 in^2 vent 16.65" Long Tuned at 35Hz

RE: Yall ever run a bass test-track on your system?

F3 is the -3db point of the system. 16 in^2 can be any combination of width/height that results in 16 square inches. If that 16.65" port length is too long for your design, you can get the "same" results with a smaller port size and length, but you may run into vent speed problems. If you need to keep it under a specific length, let me know what works, and I can calculate the correct port area.
