Yokohama AVS db - 225-60-16 Experience?

Has anyone had any experience with these particular tires yet? I've been doing some research and these seem to be a good compromise for what I am looking for. I like the look. I'm not an overly aggressive driver so I don't need Z rated tires. They are supposed to be quiet and good in wet weather. They are mid-range in price. I have a separate set of winter tires. The downside apparently is that they are directional tires which may limit tire rotation to front/back. I think I can live with that. What say ye?

When I was researching tires about 2 years ago, I was seriously considering those, and would have probably gotten them, but the place I went to recommended the Dunlop SP 5000 to me instead, and those were what I ended up purchasing. So, sorry, no experience, but they sure looked good on paper for all season driving.

good choice Sharon, i'm using the 5000,s also, very satisfied.
the best hi performance all-season tire.
I think Steve has them also.

Not sure if they are the same or similar to the Yokohama AVID V4's, but if they are I DON'T recommend them.

I had the Avid V4's on my car a couple of years ago, and for the first 10,000 miles they worked great. After that they were about the worst tire ever! They still had good tread left, but squealed around turns on dry pavement and slide too easily in the rain......not to mention the horrible snow handling abilities of that tire.

My brother also had Avid V4's on his Camaro and drove into the woods on some black ice with those tires.

Thanks for responding Ken. Actually, they are not the same as the Avid tires. Different tread design altogether. The AVS main claim to fame is their design for comfort/quiet ride and wet weather traction.

I'm still evaluating and haven't decided yet.
