ZZ Top

Has anyone else here seen ZZ Top in concert before? Brad and I got to see them this past Wednesday night. We've wanted to see them since the 80's, and Brad lucked into some tickets through a guy he works with.

We loved the show, and would like to go see them again. They may play in Fort Wayne (IN) in late October; it's tentative, but we're planning to get even better seats if we go again :D

OH YEAH!! I saw them at the Beacon Theatre in NYC a while back, they'll be back there in a couple of weeks. Great show!

Wait a sec... they let Brad in? :err-what?:

several times, from Texas Jams from way back when.. to just this past year at the houston livestock show and rodeo.

They always put on a good show.

Dusty Hill has a summer/play house in a small waterfront community called San Leon between houston and galveston.

From time to time he can be seen driving an old pink classic car that says "Honey Hush" on the rear quarter panel.. and he frequents a local Oyster Bar called Gillhooleys when he's in town.

I've seen ZZ Top many times through the years. It's amazing how much music 3 people can crank out. I love the way they are always together with each other on every note.

I heard a story about Billy Gibbons, the lead guitar/singer: Years ago, they were the opening act for Jimi Hendrix. Jimi heard Billy play, and told him that he was great, but he would sound a lot better with a good guitar. Jimi gave Billy one of his Fender guitars. Billy still has that guitar today.

Well, Brad had the tickets - he got them from a guy at work who didn't want to go! Maybe they let him slide because I was with him :tongue-pink:

They mentioned at the show that they may do another venue in Fort Wayne at the end of October, but it was tentative. I have an alert on the Ticketmaster site, to be notified of ZZ shows. I want to get seats closer to the stage if we go again.

It was sure incredible to see them play, after wanting to go for so long. I had to keep reminding myself I was really there! Seeing Billy's skill on the guitar was amazing! They did a cover of "Foxy Lady" that was killer!!
