A great deal on front air shocks

They stayed up. We went on the first drive today. I'm so glad that I kept the air ride. Bill W

A great deal on front air shocks

I was finally able to put mine in. That was a good tip on checking the o ring and the silicone grease. Mine were dry and one o ring didn't look quite right. Another heads up. Check to see if the lower bolt fits in the holes. Mine didn't and I had to open it up a bit with my dremel tool. Not...

A great deal on front air shocks

That's true about OEM and I probably would have considered it if I could find them. I might consider paying extra for OEM. But the Westar seems to have wildly different prices depending upon the vendor. So, if Autozone makes a profit at $215, the other Westar sellers who get $300+ must be doing...

A great deal on front air shocks

I got mine yesterday and just unpacked them. My solenoids look new, but they did a really poor injection molding job on the white parts. I am a former injection molder mechanic. What I see is old molds where the ejector pins are loose and loaded with dirty grease. I also see that they used...

Air ride compressor stops after about a second

You might check to see if the air drier is water logged. Ice crystals could create a blockage which would create a high pressure condition that the air compressor could not move against. Bill W

    New Car

I know on the window, but it's still solidly in place and the inside is good. What I'm looking for is a trim piece that I can use to cover the rubber to hide and protect it. Since door molding is flat it won't work. I was looking for something that was slightly hollow on the inside to fit over...

    New Car

I live in the land of eternal summer. Yesterday it got to 80, but next week It may freeze at night. Our problem is that for about 6 months of the year it gets to over 100 every day. Nothing rusts here, but the paint and the dashboard top pay the price. You deliberately park in the shade even if...

    New Car

in the week I've had it now I have discovered a fundamental "problem" with the car. It's almost impossible to drive it slowly Bill W

A great deal on front air shocks

I just picked up a set of Westar front shocks from Autozone. They wanted $215 each for them. Then they had a 20% off coupon (WINTER20 is the code for it) for ship to home orders. That made it $345 for the set with free shipping. Bill W

    New Car

I'm not a big Eco-Boost fan because they only make power from 2K to 5K and need 93 octane fuel to make the claimed power. On normal pump gas they make less power than the V6 which has a broad flat torque band all the way to redline on regular gas. Better gas kicks the V6 up. And then there's...

    New Car

Thanks That was the colour that I wanted because I do think that it's the best colour for the car. I got super lucky since my local dealer had one and there wasn't another one in a 500 mile radius. They were mostly white, grey, black or bright race red; all not quite right. It only had 26 miles...

Another rig job on the CE exhaust

Salt use seems to be peculiar to the New England states. We never used salt, just sand and it worked just as well. This was because in Saskatchewan, it was too cold for salt to do anything. I lived in Maine for 10 years and never understood why they used salt. It's only an illusion that it...

    Possible changeover to coils

Yes Rubber becomes very stiff in the cold. Back in the homeland, Saskatchewan, suspension bushings went out regularly. At -40 they could shatter on the older cars. Modern silicone bushings do much better, but the air bags are old school rubber and get very stiff when cold Bill w

    New Car

My first order of business will be suspension upgrades. I've already found a really good wheel set from Ford performance parts.

    New Car

Here are some pictures of the car It really runs well and has lots of interesting features. One of the best is a ton of soft gauges that you can put on the screen between the tach and speedo. It will give you fuel / air ratio, oil temp and pressure, trans temp, head temp and more as a list or as...
