I almost bought an LS to replace my Mark. But, since I had sold my truck, I wanted to be able to at least pull a uhaul trailer and the hitch for the LS had to come out thru the valence. I didn't want to cut a hole in the car.

If you did get air in the system, you may have to refill and run several times to get all of the air out. The fan is only needed at low speeds. Definitely check out the fan operation. It is possible you blew a head gasket when it overheated. Probably not if it didn't get that hot.

The only thing I would be worried about is how much boost he has been running with an after market chip. They do have turbos, don't they? I took a second look at an 05 model sitting at the Walmart parking lot. It had aftermarket wheels but I don't think it was raised.

Go back and read the last response. the HID bulbs are NO LONGER AVAILABLE! Buy the stock replacement head light assemblies or put some additional lights in the grill like many have.

I don't mean to deflate you, but from the sound of the damage, it would take way more than the car is worth to fix it. The salvage value is what it is worth if you sell it. If you like the car, it may be worth it to you to repair it and keep.
