If you dont want the Autodim feature, then maybe install a mirror from a Thunderbird or Escort, but you would want to remove the wire and put it up in the headliner for aesthetics. Is it cracked? Is this the line you are seeing?

Yes it is, that is the worst angle possible to show that dent. Its in the pictures, you barely notice it.

I dont think it has been painted, It may have been, I did not paint it, from what I remember, someone did remark that it looked painted when looking in engine compartment. The bumper is a slightly different hue in the pic.
