New Michelin Snow/Ice tires with 10-spoke turbine wheels FS

Hi, I am selling a set of FOUR Michelin X-Ice 225/60QR16 tires, mounted and freshly balance on a set of silver 10-spoke (Mark VIII OEM) 16X7" wheels. These tires have less than 75 miles on them (I drove on them one time from the shop where I had them mounted/balanced back to my old house, which...

    Engine problem, please help!!!!

Gene - with 180+ K on your engine new COP boots are a must! They notoriously cause misfires when old and heat cycled many hundreds of times. Autozone has the boots for about $5 ea As far as water in the back plug hole - its draining from your cowl. When you pull the COP cover to change the...

How did you install your 255lph Intank Walbro pump?

Ya the Gen 2 will work much better with an Aviator or SCT Focus pump. The Walbro pumps will fail prematurely in that application. 93-96 Marks can use it fine - just not gen 2's.

    Engine Difference Early 97 , Late 97/98 !

I know that the operating system in the EEC-V was changed sometime in early 1997. Basically internal PCM differences. As far as engine and accesories, I am pretty sure they are spot on the same. I have never heard of any differences. In fact the only thing I can think of is the 98 has...

    SCT XCalibrator 2 for sale

Hi, I am selling a SCT XCalibrator 2 that I bought from Dennis about 7 weeks ago. It is in like new condition with no defects at all (electrical or physical). I am selling it as I thought I needed it to handle a PATS no start issue I was having. Turned out that my problem was parking space...

    Dirty Power Steering Fluid

The way I do it is disconnect the CPS so the car will not start (crank only). then dicconnect the return hose (at the resevoir) and use a 3/8" barbed hose connector to run a length of 3/8 hose into a drain pan. Then your assistant cranks the motor while you monitor fluid level in the resevoir...

    new rear gears!

Its real easy if you already have the diff out. Otherwis your looking at dropping the gas tank down, removing the safety loops, and unbolting the 4 shaft to pinion bolts. Probably a 1.5 hour job with all the right tools

    new rear gears!

You may be able to find a used MMC shaft either here or at TCCOA for about $350. A new one is about $450. I dont know if it was mentioned yet but you will also need a new VSS sensor (one for 4.10's) which attaches to the driver side of your 4R70W. It is a factor in TC lockup scheduling, shift...

    new rear gears!

I know you don't want to hear this but you will need a MMC driveshaft with 4.10s. Many of the people who post here (myself included) went through this when we did our gear swaps. Dont think that you can do 4.10s in a Mark VIII and drive on the interstate at 85-90mph without a HORRIBLE...

    new rear gears!

I agree - given the time limitations you have placed on this project I see no other option than buying a used 3.07 or 3.27 pumpkin for around $100-150 and setting that up with your lower gears and limited-slip. You can definatly do the swap in the 7 hours if the new pumpkin is ready to go in.

    new rear gears!

1-hour to set up if your taking your time!!! NO WAY! You could spend one-hour with a puller and press just changing the carrier bearings. Let alone getting the pinion set-up. If you did this everyday you could probably set up the rear in 1-2 hours. Also, if you've swapped the center...

    new rear gears!

Getting a junkyard center section to use would be ideal as you could take your time. Be sure that the person who is helping you establish pinion depth/shims, carrier backlash/shims is experienced in rebuilding rears. A few THOUSANTHS of an inch is the difference between smiles and tears when...

    new rear gears!

It will be MUCH easier to pull the center section and do the work on a bench. You will definately want to get a MMC shaft BEFORE you do this (approx cost $450). You will thank me when you can cruise at 80mph without a horrible driveline vibration. You will need (not a complete list): 36MM...

    new rear gears!

If you've never done this before I think 7 hours is pushing it. The first time I did this it took me at least 12 hours total. New bearings are a must - they are cheap compared to all the work your already going to do - to replace the carrier bearings you will need a good 2-jaw puller and an...
