How well do you know your Mark VIII?

Ok, number 2 is questionable. I have looked at a few now and all have drips in the paint on the channel, its barley noticable. Does any one else see this on the inside of the channel below the weather strip. It may be only the ones I looked at? The grinding I was told was indeed the ABS...

How well do you know your Mark VIII?

These hold true for every first gen I have encountered. 1. The first time you hit approx. 17-20 mph the car makes a quick grinding noise. It will not do it agian until the car is resarted and 17-20 mph is achieved. Drove me crazy, until the dealership told me it was normal. Its a type of...

    Grand Am Antifreeze Leak

It took over two hours, but that was with chasing tools down. We had to disconnect the heater hoses, under the car. Luckily I had a helping hand, it would have taken longer without a freind. There are quite a few screws that have to be taken out to access the heater core, and we did have to...

    Grand Am Antifreeze Leak

My guess would be the heater core. I had the same leak, at least it sounds like it. I just replaced mine in my 92 Grand Am, 2 weeks ago. It is kind of a pain to get at, not hard, but the lower dash and center council have to come out. Mine was not actually the heater core itself but the tube...

    I did it

Yeah thats probably the whine. It was the alternator, it was only putting out 9 to 10 volts. The stock alt. will do fine until I can get the bad one repaired.

    I did it

Im a bad bad man. I changed the alternator all by my lonesome. Thats right. Yeeeep, thats right. Thats the first thing I have ever done under the hood on any of my cars. Not bad at all. If I can do it any one can. However I still have a question. The alternator was whining the day before...

    Kale vs, Sensor

I have a 96 that is sensor lowered to the max without extra modification. Will the Kale mod put me lower? If so anyone care to speculate how much lower, 1 inch or so?

    THANKS Pony

Nope, no brown car. I think you are thinking of that sweet brown Mark with EVERY thing shaved. I have 4 Diamond Audio 12's powered by two PPI 1800's, and a PPI 4800 powering the mids and hi's.

    Sunroofs & Systems

I had a 93 Mark VIII with a stock moonroof, really did not rattle that bad. I had to put a little piece of rubber under the track in the front, and problem solved. I had an after market moonroof installed in my 96, it rattles pretty good. In fact I am still chasing them down.

Matt- I think your on to something I think we should let her practice in Pete's Vette. As far as the power supply, I think maybe its time for a replacement amp, as all voltages through out the car checked out to be fine.

Every Detail Product you'll ever need.

Chris- I have used Ibiz, way easy on and off. It is the smoothest my car has ever felt. However I cant comment on the shine, it has been non stop rain here. I have used Zaino and Ibiz both, and am very impressed with both.
