    Power Brakes

I have already replaced the check valve and no change.

    Power Brakes

I have never encountered this before. Under high vacuum conditions, the power brakes work fine. If I gas it hard and then brake immediately, the power assist is gone until the vacuum comes up a second later. Any ideas?

    Andy Griffith show

Thanks for the offer, Alexander. My daughter bought me a couple like the ones you describe for Christmas, before I bought the package set. The package set has been remastered and the picture quality is much better than the individual DVDs she bought for me. Right now, I'm gonna keep trying to...

    Andy Griffith show

Right after Christmas I saw that the 1st season of the Andy Griffith show was available on DVD. I cannot find any info on when the 2nd season may become available. Anybody out there have any info?

    Rotors

Just wondering...Pep Boys want $57 for a Raybestos rotor and $17 for an off brand rotor. Is this a quality issue or is it a brand name issue?

    Finally, new rotors

Good news! In the time since the last post, normal driving has resumed and the dusting from the EBC Greenstuffs is about the same as the Ceramic pads that they replaced. They did have a break-in coating on the pad, so that must now be gone, 'cause the dusting is not terrible.

    Finally, new rotors

Unfortunately, it appears that Wayne is correct. The EBC Greenstuff brakes do make dust like OEMs. About a week after break in, both the front and the back looked the same, very dirty. After driving normally for a couple of weeks, you could see the front getting much dirtier than the back...

    It’s still doing it.

Call Eddie and stop wondering. He helped me (was dead on about the problem) and he stands behind his products (so make sure he moves before you back out).

    Finally, new rotors

I'll know for sure soon enough and I'll post then.

    Finally, new rotors

At 116,000 miles, but with new ceramic pads 25,000 miles ago, the brakes started to make noise during the 3rd or 4th application at 75-80 mph. Took the brakes down. At least another 20,000 miles left on the pads. Touching the edge of the rotor and I could feel a ridge-the rotors were shot. These...

    Rear Shocks

Replaced the rear shocks and mounts on my '96 (115,000 mi)on Friday. If you have an extra pair of hands for the trunk, you don't have to even lift the car to do this job. My 15 yr old son guided the new Monroe shock and mount in to the hole as I pushed it up into the frame from the ground...

    Windows

My passenger window will only go down about 1/2 an inch and appears to be out of sync with the window opening. My drivers window will go all the way down, but when I put it down while moving at speed, it appears to go off track. Any ideas?

Need new rear shocks. Advice please.

It sounds like the auto parts stores don't carry the mounting bracket for the shocks. So, I gather the t-bird does not use the same mount as the Mark but does use the same shock. That seems strange.

    H Rated Tires

I believe the Conti's use H rated tires. It looks like most H rated tires have about a 60,000 mile warranty. Do these tires work alright in the rain up until they are fully worn or does wet traction go south about half way into the warranty? Thanks.

Tires that work in the rain

I'm in the office and can't remember what kind I have now. This tire was the only one I had seen up to this point with a treadlife warranty (30,000 miles). Both of the sites I mentioned say that "H" tires are okay on the Mark, so I'm a little leery of what I have seen. Since it sounds like...

Tires that work in the rain

It's 20,000 miles on the Yokohamas and they no longer like the rain. They have become dangerous with 1/3 of their life left. I had the original Michelins, Goodrich and now the Yokohamas. None of these brands lasted and only the Yokohamas had any warranty (30,000 miles). Has anybody used the...

    Emissions Testing

FYI For what it's worth, my "check engine" light was repaired for $100. It was a vacuum hose in the the left front fender that was defective. You can disagree all you want, but the idiot light is off and it passed inspection.
