Have you removed the EATC unit and checked the wiring connections? I would check that first. Look for a 95/96 hard button unit from another Mark VIII to replace your current unit if it IS bad. Make sure it comes from a Mark. Other models LOOK the same, but function differently.

I have a Diablo chip in my '93. Talk about really waking a car up! DANG! It's like a totally different car. Definitely get a chip, it's the same amount of work (since you have to remove the computer anyway) it just costs a few more bucks.

I guess my mounting tape wan't strong enough or the surface wasn't prepared correctly. Either way, the solid color strip came off my passenger door. My car is black, but the color doesn't matter as I will paint it to match. I am NOT looking for the molding strip with the chrome strip! Thanks!

Well, you know it was assembled from many parts, so it IS possible. The question you have to ask is if it's worth taking apart. It may be easier and more cost effective to replace the entire ashtray unit.

Don't overlook the simple stuff. Check the battery, but also check the cables and ends. I bought a reman alternator for my 93 3+years ago. Bought it at O'Reilly. I simply asked for the higher amp model from a 96 LSC and haven't had a problem since. Maybe I got lucky.
