FS: For Sale -- Doug's MVIII

Would anybody be offended if I were to post a link to this thread over on TCCoA. I'd never be able to afford this car, but I'd like to see it go to an enthusiast.

    My Uncle's ol mark viii

Another NH member, we're all going to need to have a meet or something. Maybe a New England meet to try to drum up some numbers... If somebody else organizes It, and does all the hard work, I'd be perfectly willing to show up and get drunk.

    How do you say it?

I'm from Canada which is mostly Up North I don't know about out west but everybody on the East says pop. I may be in New Hampshire now but I still refuse refer to a Cola as "soda". If it actually is a soda than fine by me I'll call it as such.

    KYB shocks suck rant!

Blues are cheaper, if you can get them now.

    KYB shocks suck rant!

They're more expensive, does that equate to better. No stiffer than the blues, however they can be adjusted softer. The big selling feature is they are compatible with the Ford Lincoln Mercury, cars that have ARC. Not really worthwhile in my Opinion, but if you like to have everything working...

    KYB shocks suck rant!

vogtland springs are probably too stiff for the Kyb shocks. I Have Kyb shocks on the back of my car and Raybestos garbage on the front They rode "okay" with aftermarket replacement v8 springs (Raybestos front, Moog back) Not talking any sort of performance but the ride was acceptable. Later I...

    Joe says, "So Doug,..."

You should show us his door panel, so we can make fun of it, you know for "motivational" purposes. I'm going to hate to see this thread end, I come check this daily just to daydream.

Gen 2 broken door handle repair tips

Just did my drivers side about a week ago, Super easy after doing the passenger side a couple months ago... If my arms were small enough to fit in through the holes in the door I might have been a little bit faster. Instead of using a church key like in this write-up I used a small metal S-hook...

    WTB: 8.8/2.73 ring and pinion.

28.4?!?? damn... my average is 19.9 all stock, stock tune... somehow the same as I was getting with 4.10 gears and a tune to match. We should have a discussion thread on this... are you using the 2.73 gears now? how drivable is it. I've owned a ton of underpowered cars I can't imagine a v8...

    Compression

I really hate to be asking this but I'm on dial-up internet over Christmas and can't search the way I'd like to. Checked the compression on my car today just to see if it's worth spending any more money on:o It seems pretty even with only a 25psi differance between the highest and lowest...

    Show us your first car

My wife has a picture of me standing with a 65 Wildcat "Next best thing to owning a Riviera" - Buick I didn't own it though. My first car was a 1987 Plymouth Sundance, with a worn out 2.5 out of a K-car in place of the 2.2... still totally gutless... I hope the pictures aren't too big... And...

Try hitting the local yards, Sometimes you stumble upon Lincolns that have been converted to springs... I found a set of the Strutmasters top plates (even though I think they're crap) Might be an option for you... In the back I use my junkyard find Strutmasters plates with poly isolaters top and...
