1984 Lincoln Mark VII Shaky Shifter.

The shifter on this car has been sort of floating since day one. After talking to Brian W about his 1984, I decided to open up my shifter and was truly surprised when a busted screw, a roller, and a steel clip fell out of the driver's side of the center/shifter console.

After disconnecting the shifter cable and the ignition key removal switch, the shifter came out with four screws.
I extracted the broken screw and replaced it with a #8x1.25 Tapping screw. Since I laid out all the parts in the order in which they were removed, it was simple to reassemble the shifter whith the new screw into the existing roller.

No more shaky shifter!
