295's on a Mark VIII

details on those wheels? where did they come from?
AM started doing a whole lot of 19" recently, and since they all use the same (or similar casting), they're probably got the blanks drilled in mark viii pattern.

Unless John finally swapped to the "correct" bolt pattern ;) Then it's eazy & cheap.

Looks great John. :)

What tire size did you end up with on the front to not have the speedo or the ABS freak out?

Hello again...I have some answers to all your questions.
- Wheels are 19x10 Speedstars from American Muscle w/48mm offset in the 5x4.50 Mustang bolt pattern
- I hub swapped the car for ease of installation and wheel availability.
- Front tires are 245/40-18 on 18x9 Speedstars and 26.7" tall and the rears are 295/35-19 at 27" tall. I had no issues with the speedo.

Car looks great. Really fills out the rear. Plus one on the tire cost. OMG. Love the old school cobra style too. Im going for same ones only in 17X9 though. I like fatter sidewalls. More forgiving on our crappy highways.
With two different size rims, how is driveablity? or dont you notice it at all? Now you can throw some 4:10s in there and be just about going stock RPMS with fuel milage too boot with huge rims?. Car looks clean for sure. I like cars to be all one color.

Driveability

The car drives great and you can't tell the difference. This comes mainly because the tire height is only 3/8 of an inch taller than what was originally on the car. Remember to that the new GT500's come stock with 18/19" staggered wheels from the factory. Tire cost was about $330.00 per tire so not completely out there.

John,

according to my calculator the 245/40/18 tire is 25.7" in dia, and 295/35/19 tire is 27.1" dia. So that's almost 1.5" in height. Good to know it's not causing the TC to come on all the time, or do you switch it off regardless with the manual trans ?

Stock tire height is 26.6" BTW. Do you have a full side shot (not angled) so that one can see the actual size difference ? Also, a shot from the side back would be great as well. Thanks !

We've contemplated using 18/19 combo on the black car, but it looks like it will be big wheel all around.

Tire Sizes

OK...here are the specs on the tires. When I put it together I pulled the BFG spec sheets and found the 245/45-18 fronts were 26.7" in diameter and the 295/35-19 is 27" even. No enough to make any difference and no issues at all with the ABS or traction control. Here are a few more pics.

Indeed.
Very impressive (and good to know).
What enquirying minds also want to know is: ride quality?
Tell the truth.
Cheers!
