94 Town Car power door lock module

1994 Lincoln Town Car Signature - None of the power door locks operate; remote, touch pad, drivers master switch and all door switches do not work. I was told I need a Power Door Lock Module and it is located under the dash or right kick panel.

Can anyone confirm or refute this?

If this is what I need, where can I get one and where is it locate in the car?

Also, none of map lights work. Is this connected with door lock issues?

This post may not be as helpful as it could be, but the description does sound realistic.

My closest experience to this is a friend's '95(?) Mercury Cougar that did something similar. There was a "black box" that I could swear was in the trunk, behind the liner on the driver's side. It basically burned itself up. (we found it by following our noses..) The box contained the electronics for the remote keyless entry, and as a result, electric locks, and dome lights were routed through it.

Being a two-door car, with no keypad, he never bothered replacing the module.

So my gut tells me that what you have been told is correct, I just don't know exactly where *your* module is, or how complicated the repair may be. (there is a chance that the module is "matched" to the car..)
