cutting exhaust pipe

An exhaust pipe cutter. ;)

However, don't be too critical of a sawsall, I have a very nice 2.5" sawsall guide that I used on my stainless systems.

That is a cool tool idea, but a bit pricey for my needs. If I am ever at your garage you will have to show it to me. Any reason a regular old pipe cutter could not be used?

We use zip wheels for all our stainless at work. We are not under cars though so it would make it difficult with the grinder.

Doug, what is the measured wall thickness of the stainless exhaust pipe you use? Do you use 304 or 316 because I can get either and since I buy about 5000 feet of pipe a year I can get pretty good discounts on the pipe and fittings.
