Is it a sticking solenoid or what?

My '98 Usually drops to 'park' level (sometimes a little lower) but this past week since it's gotten colder, the suspension stays up and doesn't drop. "Check air" message doesn't come on as the whole system is raised levelly. Have looked all over forum posts and can't find answer. Help anyone??

If the air ride is not venting, the message should appear. What is the distance when you measure from the bottom of the wheel rim to the bottom of the fender/quarter panel arch?

Just measured and front is 25 inches/back is 24 and a half. It looks to be about half to an inch down from yesterday. Hadn't driven it for several days and it was still up when I drove it yesterday for a couple of miles. And, no, no check air message.

The colder weather is probably affecting the vent solenoid.
Think you're right, driller. Haven't moved car for 3 days and today noticed it finally dropped to park level. At least I know the air bags are still good (originals).

If you haven't moved the car for 3 days, and the car lowered, that would probably be the air springs leaking down. The air ride system shuts down after about an hour after the car is shut down.

When you first start the car, after the compressor runs, measure the heights, then measure the heights when you shut it down (and close all the doors) to see what's happening with the venting.

I had this problem years ago when the weather got cold. Excess moisture in the dryer will cause ice crystals to form. Impeding the air flow and freezing valves closed or open. Yet another one of the many reasons i converted to springs.

The dryers should be rebuilt at lest every 5 years depending on use. I would guess 98% of the Marks still out there have never been touched.

Well, I think everything is back to normal. The car dropped to park level. I took it for a quick trip around town today and had no problem. Am more than willing to assume it was a little ice in the dryer. Had the compressor and dryer replaced about a year ago so am hoping these will last a while. I really like the ride and hate to think of changing over to springs. Am finally getting a carport next week so I can keep it out of the weather (mostly). Thanks to all for ideas & help.
