Whats a good cheap way to repair a hole in the steering wheel leather besides black electrical tape. It couldn't be in a worse spot as my hand seems to be right where its located at all times.

A good quality wrap will work or you can spend big bucks to have it redone. That would of course involve removing it and the car being down for a while.

Another choice would be just to replace it with one from a junkyard or eBay. Or go all out and get the FR500 wheel if the color would come close. ;)

Pssht, I'd just throw a pretty steering wheel cover over that. I've always done that in most of my cars. Just think of it as "using protection". :D

John at Legend sells a nice releathered and modified Mark 8 steering wheel. He had it on his car at Carlisle. I think it is arround $300. An auto upholstery shop may know tricks for patching it but I can't imagine it not being noticable. refinishing a steering wheel is a pretty standard task at a profesional upholstery shop. You could probably drop it off and have it the next day. I would bet you have 50 good shops to choose from in your area.

Check Ebay or the BMW sites for a used steering wheel. It will probably be cheaper than getting it professionaly recovered.

Those are SO Mark Viii gauges!

What about getting a chunk of leather in matching color, stick it in the hole and glue it down. Maybe cost 5 bucks for your beater, I mean Beemer.
