Anyone have a MKZ Hybrid? I am thinking of getting one, thought I would try for some first hand knowledge before dumping big bucks.
Thanks
Joe

Just bought a 2015 MKZ Hybrid in Florida and drove it back to Maryland to replace my 2012 VW Passat TDI that is being bought back by VW because of the emission scandal. Lucky me, they are giving me the amount that this Z cost me!!! On the way back from Lauderdale I got 43.7 MPG (hand-calculated) !

Finally got the buy-back offer from VW today! $26,000 !! Even MORE than I paid for the Z. Gonna be pretty much even tho as I have to keep it insured until March 9th, the turn in date! Who cares!!! I'm driving a LINCOLN!!!!!

Not bad at all, Bud!

My friend here with a 2010 is only getting 15k or so, I think.. but the buyback is happening sooner. the 28th.

Trouble is, the car has been sitting so long it has "summer grade" diesel in it. Thing won't start worth a darn in this -8 degree weather.. I'm going to have to do some troubleshooting..

That's the plan, Chris. Trouble is getting it up the steep driveway and into the (single car) garage from where it's parked now. When I took a crack at it a couple weeks ago, I felt I still had time to try that solution "later." It sure hasn't gotten any warmer though.

Block heater is a good idea. I'll check for that. My primary concern is that the diesel that's in it has gelled, but although I know they definitely change the formulation with the season around here, I really don't know much about the properties.

I go out and start mine every couple of weeks or so.....let it run to recharge the battery. Never had a problem starting it with "summer" fuel in it. Course, I ain't living in upper Slabovia winter wonderland either!!!

Mike, my 2012 also only has 25,000 miles on it so it is commanding a much nicer payback.

I knew yours was newer, and assumed low-ish miles. Still, that's impressive. :) Congrats on the "free" MKZ..

The one in question here is at 90k or so.
