My new Black 94 Mark VIII

I asked Jeremi to keep an eye out for a new daily driver for me, and he found this one. It needs a new trans and some other typical small mechanical stuff, but I've got the spare parts from my other black 94.

It's a nice car, 90K miles, virtually no rust, runs and drives great, the chrome and paint look great and even the snow flake wheels are in good shape. :big-grin:

Perfect timing and it looks like you made an upgrade from the sounds of it. I'm sure there's nothing you could find wrong that you wouldn't have a replacement for. :)

So, what are you doing with the old(er) one? What became of the red one? I'm beginning to lose track of your ever evolving fleet. LOL :D

Thanks guys.

The red one I parted out a long time ago. I need to change my signature photo.

My old black one will be parted out too. The engine and trans are still great and so is the interior. The HID headlights will be going on the new black one as well. :)

The new one doesn't have the JBL stereo and CD changer, so I'll be swapping that over.

I'll be putting a set of chrome 10 spokes or maybe 20 spokes on it also.

Nice find Bill. I think your place should be named "The Mark Vlll Park", with all your vehicles and the occasional sighting of lots of Mark Vlll nuts at your place. I know the new car is in the best of hands.

man I have been absent for a long time...last I remember, you just got the CE.
Congrats Bill.
you'll need to swap the amp and harness for the JBL to upgrade the sound...not fun.

Black 94 was my first, my last, my everything. It helped define who I am.

Thanks Craig. I was wondering about the JBL wiring. The worst part would probably be the harness going into the door, that goes to the whole main body harness. Maybe I can just run a couple of extra wires into the doors for the tweeters. I do have a spare harness to the CD changer and amp I can pull out of the other black Mark.

I still have your original chrome 20 spokes from your black Mark.

wow! I loved those wheels.
the wiring will be a nightmare.
just adding in the wiring for a factory CD changer was a chore for me on a different 93.
personally I would swap door panels and just direct-wire the tweeters/speakers using a diagram.
I went to direct-wire an aftermarket stereo in Tommy's 93 when his JBL amp took a dump.
4 hours later I bought one off ebay since none of my re-wire job worked properly(sound quality was very muted).

adding JBL to a non-JBL car is very difficult. I would just swap door panels and install aftermarket speakers personally.
But alas...that means $$$$$

I haven't got to the stereo yet, I've been working on the other things lately.

After the trans swap, right front air spring, stabilizer end link replacement, and 20 spoke wheel install, I drove the car to work (50 miles) to check everything out. The trans shifted great and the car ran ok, but it got horrible fuel mileage and the check engine light came on.

I pulled the codes and it was the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor. I replaced that yesterday, and changed the radiator while I was at it, with a spare that I had, because the original had a little leak. No more codes, and the car runs like it should.

I still need to change the rear shocks and the left front air spring.

I cleaned it up a bit yesterday, and put the engine cover from my other black Mark on. :)

shrod fnt.jpgThat's the way a car should look Great job. When I had my engine cover on my 95, I was eating alts. I did a little mod on the cover to allow more air to the alt. I think it helped.

Between you and Tony, We should start making bets to see who gets to 10 Marks first.
