PI Intake Q's

So as a means to address the bad idle and heat problem I'm going to replace the O2 sensors and replace my intake /t-stat with a PI intake and new gaskets. Also, I will try and flush the heater core.

I know shot gunning it is not the best approach but I figure the car has 200,000miles with original plastic intake and problem original O2's.

So far I have read that the PI intake might have a different set of gaskets. Just wonder if this is true or can I use a set I have for my NPI motor? Also I have read in a few places that RTV was used but I can’t figure out where. I thought these gaskets were a dry application but I keep seeing different opinions.

Is there anything else I should be replacing as long as I am R&R’ing the intake? Thoughts?
This is all dependant on a craigslist sale at the moment....

I thought about throwing a mark motor in there but I don't know if it's worth the trouble.

RTV can be used sparingly - make sure it is a thin even coat of O2 sensor safe silicone.

I prefer using a tacky compound such as Permatex® High Tack™ Spray-A-Gasket™ Sealant on the bottom side of the gasket and carefully aligning the gasket using the intake bolts as a guide. This helps hold the gasket in proper alignment when attaching the intake. As a general rule, if the gaskets have an OEM silicone sealant ring, I do not use anything on the top of the gasket or underside of the intake mating surface.
