I’m in the process of replacing the Brick’s water pump.
Two surprises here: #1 was when I unbolted the drive pulley and found out the motor is too close to the frame to allow the pulley to be removed. So I got out my little bottle jack and moved the motor left just enough to remove the pulley.
Surprise #2 was when I went to remove the water pump from the motor. There were two studs where the nuts were corroded to the studs. Hence, the nuts unscrewed the studs. The studs are too long to be pulled out of the block, due to the motor being too close to the frame. So I had to get out the bottle jack again and move the motor over WAY over to get enough room to remove the pump. Then I went back and used the double nut method to screw the studs back into the block.
Even though the new pump has a forever warranty, I hope this new one last longer than the first one. What a pain.
