Tire/Wheel Swap off a Mercury Grand Marquis

Hi,
I'm new on here, and will be introducing myself on the other section here shortly, but I have a pressing issue I need to get resolved first.

I just bought a '93 Mark 8, and the car only has 68k on it! But, because the car sat for so long, it rides like it's on square wheels! It does look like a wheel weight or two might be missing, so I'm hoping that's the issue.

In the meantime, I have a set of really nice Firestone Winterforce snow tires that I used for my 2000 Grand Marquis (that I traded in for the Mark), and I'd like to try them just to be sure that it's not a drivetrain issue.

So, after that long-winded explanation, will the MGM'S wheels bolt on to my Mark? The tires are the same size.

Thanks,
John

Just seconding Driller's post. He's right, I'm afraid.

As the owner of both a Town Car, and Mark VIII, I can definitely confirm this.

Additionally, Welcome!

Thanks for the welcoming, and unfortunately, the information I was hoping not to get! Oh well, can't blame a guy for trying!

Since it looks like I'll need some wheels now, can you tell me the correct back spacing I need, and how wide the wheels need to be?

Thanks,
John

Mark my Bird!
Welcome John!

The 5x4.25" bolt pattern of the Mark is not very common; unless you are like me and own 2 Tauruses and a T-Bird. LOL Off the top of my head the only wheels that will bolt on, not necessarily with the right backspacing, are: '86-'07 Taurus, '89-'97 T-Bird/Cougar, '94-'03 Windstar (and possibly Freestar), a lot of Volvos and some Jags. :)

Hope that helps!
