tires and rims.

ive been debating for awhile with a few things.
1- keep the stock 16s with vogues (like in my signature on LVC)
2- get some 18'' chrome speedstars, and 255/45/18 tires all around
3- get a set of black and chrome 18x9s from tire rack, 255/45/18 all around
4- get regular tires and switch off between the vogues and regular?
if i decide to get regular tires for the stock 16'' rims- i believe they are 16x7, what is the widest profile i can go with stock rims? could i go 255/60/16 all around? if anyone could suggest what they would do out of the 4 things i listed that'd be a big help in me deciding. in the end i know its going to be my decision but i want some tips and what you guys would do. thanks

My personal preference is the 18x9 chrome Speedstars. I don't have the answer to your question about width, but someone else should.

hmm 255/50 all around is a nice wide tire for a stock 16'' rim lol. i do like the speedstars, and i like the 04 cobra wheels and the fr500s. but i don't have the $$ to do a hub swap lol. this is going to be tough. another thing for me to consider is that the rims on the car are starting to peel, so new rims might just be my only solution lol. thanks guys, ill let everyone know what im getting when the time comes :D

Here's my opinion, a cheap solution for now.

Have the yellow stripe tires remounted with the stripe on the inside. See how nice those chrome 20 spokes look with blackwall tires.:cool:

Sorry, I've never been a fan of the yellow stripes.:)

@ billcu - I was never crazy about the yellow stripe either, its kind of grown on me lol. I would like to get regular blackwall tires and switch on and off though. Now i just have to find a place that carries tires in this size
255/50/16 - all the way around, and an all season tire, tire rack only carries that size in D.T.s

+1 I was just poking around and I have seen only the seemingly mediocre BFG g-force sports aside from drag tires. Has anyone ever found a model that is useable? Or do people just stick with a 245/50-16?

I'm thinking of going with 245/50/16 tires. I'd really like to go with chrome Saleen Speedstars at 18x9 but they're a bit out of my reach especially with all the things I have to take care of. I do need to replace the tires so I'm going to go with those 245s I mentioned.

The speedstars are outta stock now =/ who knows when more will come in
