Greetings from Cape Canaveral. A family member is giving us a 1998 Mark VIII Collector's Edition (pearl, with every option). It has been garaged its entire life and only has 4K miles. We are struggling whether to sell it and buy a newer driver as I would hate to make the Mark a daily. I have been all over the Internet and cannot find any real pricing info on the car. Note, it does not have the silver ingots but has everything else and is completely original, including the tires. Anyone have a learned opinion? Thanks and have a great week.

That low of miles in perfect condition is hard to find. But these are not highly collectible cars. 6-8K. MAybe more if the timing is right. Have seen them go for more with less miles and an accident history. Then you see an awesome example sit for sale for ever.

I agree with beerdog, $6K--$8k might get it sold. A car that sits that much, might have issues. Orginal tires would be rare, they were made for the MKVIII, but 18 year old rubber? there's a lot of info in the tech section about the CE. Hagerty gave my CE a $10K value. Pics would be great. A true collectors dream. Id start at $10K, you can always go lower. It might take awhile to sell it.

Right now is not the time to sell it in all honesty. Cars devalue at first and then gradually build it back up. A good example is with Crown Vics, my family was able to buy them for around 500 maybe 10 years ago and now they're selling for 3k

Apples, and oranges. They built 1326 CE's only in 1998. They've built a zillion crown vic's for a lot of years. He has a collector car, rare.

It will sell for at least $15k on ebay in one week provided it's as nice as it sounds, and somebody puts in some time go advertise it properly.

I wonder if they ever got it tuned correctly. It had two computers and two spark plugs per cylinder IIRC. The last I ever saw of it, it was parked Walt's family room.

I think that for a 98 CE with 4K miles you need to find the right buyer too.

I think you guys are light at 6 to 8 grand. I would pay more than that and I dont need it.
