Wax and polishing

Hi Guys,
I was looking at investing in a little equipment and products to clean up the paint on my cars and looking on the AutoGeek site, I'm out of my league. http://www.autogeek.net/exteriorcare.html

I think I want to get a Porter Cable 7424 DA polisher but lost when it comes to the overwhelming selection of products (waxes, polishes, pastes). Anyone here have a little experience and have a recommendation for me? Black car with good paint, just want to shine it up as it looks dull.

Try to find a combo deal on 7424XP and M105 M205 compounds. This will solve your problem.

This is decent http://www.detailedimage.com/DI-Packages-M29/PC-7424XP-M105-M205-pads-P438/ but there are kits out there with larger bottles.

Make sure you get one of those brushes to clean the pads in between sections. Also, make sure you get enough pads for each step... once they get too saturated, they start to lose effectiveness and produce more heat.

I recommend the 5.5" pads over the 6" with the 7424XP.
