Joe, let me know if you'd like company on the way to STL if you decide to go. I'd do what I can to put in for gas. No f-in way would I afford to drive my own butt over to STL in my thirsty Explorer. :p That said, if I did drive, that's not to say i wouldn't race a few V6 mustangs. }(

initial negotations with the hotel has begun. Should have things finalized within a week.

As far as everything sounds we will have the exact same rates as last year. In addition to that it sounds like they may comp. a "conference" room for us to have a reception in. I'm thinking for that all wee need is a TV, seating, and table and wet bar.

I'm not sure if they charged for parking last year but I'll try to get that waived for the group as well.

The tentative arrangements are $89.99 for a delux room (NKX or NQQX).

Ok, let me explain to you my ideal Lincoln meet, and you can tell me if STL meets my requirements. I enjoy sitting around (preferable not in the sun) and drinking, socializing with anyone who’s willing to entertain my inebriated ramblings, occasionally eating (I know some of those TCCOA guys can really bbq), and looking at cars. Watching a few races can be cool, but for me, that gets old kinda’ quick, and I have essentially no interest in racing my own car. It gets driven hard enough during daily use.

Is this my kinda’ event or would sitting around drinking in the direct summer sun, in a (paved?) parking lot be, at the least, frowned upon or perhaps at the most potentially dangerous. :D

Agree whole-heartedly. A tent is a must.

And again, if we're gonna do this, we need to contact someone in charge of the event and see about getting a group of slots together. Registration is at the gate. Last year I arrived the day after Jay and Sharon and got stuck several hundred yards away from them. Maybe find out what the TCCOA does.

I will say, though, that the parking at the hotel scared the bejeezus out of me. It's TIGHT to say the least.

Looks like we've reached the saturation point here. Let's summarize some potential meets thus far...1. Carlisle, PA2. WFC @ St. Louis, MO3. Power Tour, USA4. Chicago, IL5. Cincinatti, OH6. FFW @ Epping, NHDid I miss any?We have come to know Carlisle as an annual event and regardless of location it will probably continue to draw members from afar. Since it has its' own following(including a forum BTW), let's concentrate on the others.While I'm still awaiting membership data, it's obvious the mid-west is where the action is. ;) Chicago, St. Louis, Cinci and Port Clinton have been prior hosts to meets in the past. There is no reason they all can't be done this year as well. Chapter meets are an important venue, so let's not forget to participate on a chapter level. I believe the NE and FL chapters had meets as well last year.The Power Tour concept is simply phenomenal(IMHO). I just want to say, even if it takes a year or more to plan, we need to see this happen in some variation or another. It's obvious to entail a lot of work as well as member participation, but the impact would be enormous.All any of these potential meets need is a enthusiastic member to spearhead the effort. Look at Cinci last year as a perfect example. It actually started as a suggested meet in another location and snowballed into one of the bigger events of the year. I personally hope to see the "LOD Summer Blast" return as an annual event of some sort. So grab those calendars and start planning!Heck, what about a WV meet(me and Kenny)? Wow how did I miss this thread??? lol Some great ideas flowing here, I would be able to do some driving if the LOD run came out as far as New England or somewhere near. Subscribing...........hope something materializes.

I am kinda partial to Cinci. But then again I am only about 1.5 hours away from there. Would love to come. I am going to try to get the car painted an everything this spring as soon as it gets warm enough to work outside. Hopefully I will be able to get that done before we decide to meet.

The hotel negotiating is more or less done. Everything is being put into the computer this time by the National Sales team. Therefor we will be recongnized as a "group" at the hotel.

Other than that, everything is the same as last year. I'll confirm everything on Monday evening or Tuesday. Whenever I get a chance to visit the boards.

as of 10PM last night the national sales people still haven't gotten us into the system.

Guess on Wednesday if it isn't in there I'll be a little xo Should've just done it myself without the authority and then told them what I did.
