Simply put... I was thinking WAY TO MUCH about my dial in, and dial'd myself right out of the races.
[/div]

Why do we do that? ::uh::

[/div]

*sigh* I wish I knew...

Time trials I ran 9.85 x3 and 9.86.

My dial in was 9.85, round one of Street Stock the other guy turned on the red light so I ran it out all the way to the finish line.
I ran 9.73!!!! ::wtf::

Thinking way to much, I dial'd my car down to 9.70... and went back to lanes for jack pot. I lose running that 9.85.

I went RIGHT BACK TO THE LANES with no cool down, why oh why did I change my dial in!?!

Second round of Street Stock was close to an hour later... so I left that 9.70 on my car. Made sense to me at the time since that last 9.73 was an hour cool down pass.

But the car thought different and ran that 9.85 again. Again I say, WHY OH WHY did I change my dial in!?! xo

Oh well, I can't win them all. When I do, the race car drivers get mad and stop coming to the track *lol*

And.. WE'RE BACK!

This friday night 09-28-06 Lone Star Motorsports Park Re-opens and lights the fire under the 2006 Street Stock Series!

Initial indications are looking for a large turnout tomorrow night.
Should be some really cool air from the cool front blowing thru!

... I CANT WAIT!

We'll let you know how it went.

RE: Points for 06-09-2006

RE: Points for 06-09-2006

Made a couple of trips to a different track for some shakedown passes.

First trip
9.63
9.62
Went home happy!

Second trip
9.63
9.62
waited 1 hr
9.53

Third trip (last friday)
9.63
9.62
Dialed 9.62 in round 1, ran 9.62!
Dialed 9.60 in round 2 and broke out by a large amount
{see 9.53 above? HAHA)

All of these passes had 2.30-2.31 60 foots which are crappy 60's compared to our "usual track" that re-opens TOMORROW!
Normally I have a 2.10-2.15ish 60'
...car should run "real good, at a track with a good 60'"!

You should load up and head out!!!

I'm still shocked that in three straight weeks the car went 9.63 then 9.62 in "THE HEAT"!
I compared Log Book times and from initially looking at it.. I picked up .2-.3 with the motor swap, I'll know more when I get back to the "GOOD TRACK"

Give me a call if you get a sec Danny!

RE: Points for 06-09-2006

RE: Points for 06-09-2006

Not only were the 60 foots crappy, but now my car is "sh*tting tires" on the 1-2 shift.
Not a chirp, not a bark, roughly a half a second of tire spin. {which isn't conducive to running a good number)

hopefully tomorrow will be some good #'s

When I first took it to the track, I said I'd be happy if it ran a 9.70-9.75 {judged from my log book} that would be "back where I was".

When I ran 9.63 I knew the car was making more power and putting more power to the rear tires.

Good luck at the track! If the weather holds out this coming weekend, I should have some track times as well. ;)

I couldn't find my lucky shirt! ::uh::
So... I went with the "You didn't beat me, I let you win" shirt. :+

But YOUR good luck must have rubbed off... I went 2 rounds in street stock and won jackpot! Took home a cool $100!!

I'll get a write up with times and stuff later. I just wanted to say "thanks for the luck" JP! :7

Great job kids, glad to see the track re-opened ans you got some decent times even thought it's still a little slippery out there.

It was good to talk with you on the phone yesterday, sorry I was busy, we'l talk again, I was putting another IAC on the car and making adjustments when we talked.

Foul Start Right Lane

I had some trouble with traction during time trials, made my best guess for a dial in for round 1 and got lucky and won.

Round 2 I took myself out at the tree, LUCKILY the guy in 2nd in points took himself out in round 1.
So, even though I lost round 2, I still put ANOTHER 10 points ontop of my lead over second place.
Had a bad night, went home happy!!!

Tiff waded thru the round of Jackpot to pocket 100.00 for her efforts, I'm pretty sure she's sitting over there typing out her "Race Report" right now.

After losing round 2, I let my car cool down and made a 1/4mile Time Trial against a Subaru WRX

Subaru WRX Mark 8

Subaru driver looked very confident as we went to the tree, I got a little smirk out of him after I did my burnout, as if he was saying.."yea.. sure"..HAHA

Thank you sir!

I jacked my front tire pressure up from 43 to 46 to see if it would help my RT's.. they got "real close, TOO CLOSE".

I was going to drop them back to 45 for round 1.. but forgot.
Going into round 2 I "thought" about it.. and didn't.

Should have, Could have...ehh.

RE: Friday Night 10-06-06

RE: Friday Night 10-06-06

Here is the race re-cap posted on www.lonestarmotorsportspark.com

Saturday Night the track was hookin' & bookin'!! Only 8 cars decided to run in Street Stock, but the competition was just as strong.

First Round

Tommy Douglas trees Ruby Slater and runs a 14.97 on a 14.91 dial to take the win.
Joe Cram runs 9 numbers off his dial and puts Mark Wood back in the Test N Tune lanes.
Kirk Berger out runs Ernie Ybarra and takes the win.
Chris Watts in his first time at the drag strip and talked into Street Stock puts Kenny Berger out of the race.

Second Round

Something's not right, only 3 cars answer the call. Then word comes in and it's not good. Kirk Berger has broken a motor mount and is forced to retire. Beginner's Luck continues as Chris Watts draws the bye run.
Tommy Douglas and Joe Cram meet up to see who's going to face Watts in the Final. Douglas cuts a good light and heads off down track. Cram doesn't get the light to go? What's wrong? Incorrect dial in that Cram didn't catch. Uh Oh. Rules state if you stage with an incorrect dial the race results will stand. Tommy Douglas showed his sportsmanship and agreed to a re-run. Tommy and Joe line up again. What a race!! Reaction times are 6/1,000ths of a second apart, Cram runs a 14.04 on a 14.20 dial while Douglas runs a 14.80 on a 14.95 dial. Double Break Out!! Douglas wins by the slimmest of margins!!

FINAL ROUND

Tommy Douglas lines up againt Rookie Chris Watts. On Friday Night, Douglas redlit against a new-comer. Will it be a repeat performance? Both cars stage and the tree comes down with a green light shining in both lanes.

Douglas-----------Watts
14.80----DIAL----13.69
.0303------RT----.0425
14.8753---ET---13.8542
85.23----MPH----104.48
WINNER

Douglas takes home the big trophy, but Watts had the biggest smile of the night taking home a Runner Up Trophy on his first time ever to the drag strip. He was pretty emphatic when he said he'd be back next week!

Overall a great night of racing and an even better time at the Truck Stop afterwards. See yall again next time!!
