3.73's going in as soon as i have time to do it

Max, look where he lives!!! He's in Flatlands, USA. Missouri isn't exactly the busiest of places in the world and he drives conservatively. Why shouldn't he get 28mpg? Gees, if I get 25 (ave) on the NYS Thruway, it's easy for me to believe!

Do you have 3.73s? And he claims it is an average of city/highway. I averaged 25-26 on the freeway as well.

There's no flat land here. My 25 mile trip to work is the best roller coaster ever! :D

"I *DO* in fact maintain a 28 mph average on the highway "

I don't see where he says "combined". Whatever, he just may be the 'lucky' one who has THE engine with perfect clearances. Why is this so hard for you to believe?

There's not many states I haven't been to.....most of them I have been pulling a 30' fifth wheel.

YOU haven't been to NY or California have you?

28mph is indeed impossible on the freeway... is crappy average speed if you ask me :p

LOL, That is a crappy highway speed.

If it is true he is lucky. I've never averaged better than 24MPG all highway 5 to Oregon and back and that was with stock gears. With my 3.73 around town seems a little better, but the highway has lost at least 2mpg.

i installed my gears and posi the other day. now it will light up the 245's on the street like it would the stock 225's with the stock gears now. its deff going to be fun but i have not really gotten a chance to take it for a trip other then twice to the gas station and back. i cant wait to let her rip at the track hopefully i can get it to the TNT session tomorrow. if not i guess its first run will be on the local rice or slowstangs

Way to break em in right, haha. Make sure you change the fluid after 500 miles or so..... :)

Burnouts were a breeze for me too!

so i made it to the track the other night and it turns out i need a set of slicks or something now. with the stock gears i was pulling consistent 2.0 60' times now with the gears it has gone down to a 2.3 60' because of tire shake almost all the way through first gear. that was with me leaving at 2500 rpm on the converter. this is the first time the car has ever shook the tires it useley just spins nice and smooth.

my ets went from 9.4 with a 2.0 60' with the stock gears to a 9.5 with a 2.3 60' with the new 3.73 gears in it. so if i could get back to at least a 2.0 60' that should bring me down to a 9.2 or 9.1. with a sticky set of slicks and the new gears i should be able to come up on the converter more for a even better launch and hopefully pull a 1.9 60'.

he also doesnt want to say anything about how hard i pulled on him saturday night on the courtney campbell causeway. and his first words at the gas station was what did you do to your car? i dont think he believes me still when i said nothing at all, actually i did tell him i changed the oil an hour before i went out there lol. my stock 93 pulled on you with two fat bald guys inside it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides tires, you need poly spindle bushings, tranny mounts, and diff mounts. The slop is what kills you.

yea i know about 80% of the bushings in my rear end are shot. my tranny mount is brand new and my diff bushings are on there way out but still not that bad.

ya i forgot about that deal with jamie and i believe your car is stock. what is baffling me is why did you pull on me so hard? *goes out and checks for loose spark plugs*
