well since i sold my black 93 i havent bought anything else, and my father in law sold his corvette convertible and wasnt sure what he wanted, so after driving a few continentals, and really nice 2000 e-150 explorer conversion van, and a 98 mark VIII lsc, he settled on his new ride last night. i drove him over to orlando and we picked up a 2001 navigator for $3,400. lol boy people practically throw suv's away right now. its black on grey 4x4 5.4 liter and drives really nice. i started buffing on it tonight but didnt get far, thepaint is really neglected, not wrecked, just needs wet sanding and buffing. i'll throw up some pics when i get a chance. its a hell of a price for the truck its in great shape. finally got the old man back in a lincoln!

wow $3400 for a navi is dirt cheap. I just hope gas prices arent' going to go up again that thing prob never sees above 15mpg.

We demand pics, lol!. Sounds like a killer deal. I've spotted several for similar deals. Amazing how the value has come down but with gas half the price what it was a few months ago they may see a spike in price soon.

little off jesse, 204k miles. it went from orlando to new jersey about once a month for years!! here is a before and after shot. so far i have only wet sanded and buffed the entire nose. i have to do it in parts since its so big and taking so long.

204k wow... I thought my crown vic with 188k is approaching death...

And I drive the snot out of that car...
no wonder we were having a gas crisis some mofo drove a 6k lbs SUV 204k miles in 7 yrs...
30k miles a year...
At 15mpg that was 2000 gallons of gas a year
6 gallons a day!

BTW awesome job on the paint!

polish a turd jesse? why because it has alot of miles. its far from a turd the only thing it needs is the matching 4th wheel put back on and some wax. it takes alot more than miles to make a car a turd. i'd put it up against half the low mile turds i have seen in my days. its all highway, and the guy kept up on everything on it. if you drove it, you'd swear it was a 70k truck tops. i have learned over the years not to even worry what the odometer says, you can have your low mile cars, i'll take a high mile well treated car any day of the week, specially for the price, you cant touch a navigator of this year with under 100k for less than 8 grand.

I personally avoid high mile cars. The S10 I sold to Mark was the highest mileage truck I've had in a long time @ 126k?. It's probably just a phobia but when driving I feel more at ease in a low mileage car, especially on road trips. Then again a neglected 50k mile car is probably worse than a cared for 150k mile car but the problem is there is no telling how well cared for a car was before you owned it unless you take the sellers word for it. I trust only a few people...................

I would rather have a car with 100k highway miles on it than a car with 70k miles of city driving, but thats just me. (thats if they were identical in shape other than that aspect) Looks good Jamie! You do good work. :)

I don't care about miles at all...

I looked at a lot of different cars before buying my Mark, I drove a 93 that showed 70k on the odometer but it drove like it have 200+...

im the same way, miles mean nothing to me. who's to say you cant travel down the road in a 50k car and have a wheel just snap off, its a machine, anything can happen at any given moment so who cares what the odometer says. its funny a lady from new port richey made the news here with her 73 ish camaro rs she bought it brand new and has over a million miles on it now, and she has had it restored like 3 times in that span, and they asked her would you ever sell it, she said no way she's an old lady now but man, over a million and the car looked mint!!

Most of my vans (1997-01 GM Full Size Work vans) have more than 140k on them. I've only had to replace one enginem only because the driver ran it out of oil.

I sold my 1994 GMC 4x4 with 330k on it.

My 1998 Tahoe has 168k on it. You couldn't tell by looking or driving.

Bottom line, miles mean little when a vehicle is well take care of.

Technology has improved so much in the last 15 years that vehicles will last much longer than they used to. Better oils, tighter tolerances all contribute to this.

I know Jamie....it was just the perfect spot for the joke. :D

I'm with you, you can tell a good car when you see/ride in it, no matter what the miles. My stepdads 97 LSC had 110 on it and it didn't show it AT ALL. Some of the best deals can be had with a high mileage car, expecially if you're a mechanic.

here jesse, i'm all done except fixing the tire does it still look like a turd???? must be some damn fine polish!!
actually i did use some fine polish, i buffed it with a heavy cut pad and clean cut, then went to a light cut pad and more clean cut, then i hit it with a super soft polishing pad and some mcguires color x, then i finished by hand with mcguires # 7 mirror glaze wow what a difference. not bad either only took me 3 days. pete showed up at the shop in my car just as i was finishing up and he was blown away. i did it for him for nothing, just being a nice guy, but he couldnt stop saying thank you!! he loves it and he was amazed that i could get it looking this way, i knew before i touched it i could make it look good again, but even i didnt think i'd get it this nice, man the paint looks amazing, it better cause my arms and back are smoked now, 3 days of buffing sucks!!!!!!!!!!
