I'm trying to find my old links to that green custom lowered Gen 1 (I think). He removed the bump stops, drilled valves into the stock bags, had a custom tank holder or something in the trunk.
Stinkin Lincoln or Wicked Lincoln or something.....
Yep, he's the namesake of the "Ray" switch. I actually in contact with him on Thursday or Friday before the weekend that he died. I was waiting for a response from him, but found out that he had passed away that weekend. Very sad. He was a great member of the Mark VIII community.
I think so, well, he brings the purple one called Barney (IIRC). And I remember Ray had his car painted green, then I think he had to sell it, but by that time he wasn't posting here so I'm not sure of all the details. Sax may know more, he chats up everyone.
barney is a dark cranberry 93. it was one of rays cars, after he died it sat stored for a long time and his brother decided to fix it up and have it repainted in rays memory.
Ray was, and his family is, what I call good people.
The "Ray Switch" is basically a suspension mod to slam the car when parked. He used to be in the mini-truck low-rider scene and saw the Mark VIII suspension as a natural extension of one of his passions.
I actually think the 'bagged Lincoln' you refer to was likely Kale's?
Maybe, but this is what I remember it looking like.
I'm buying a complete stock suspension set (front and rear) on Sunday for 250 bucks and I'm thinking about doing that mod. I read about it somewhere (the link isn't there anymore JP) where they drilled/tapped the stock plastic housing and put the 1/2" valves in there. I already have the tank/compressor/HORNS. This is still all up in the air though.
I also read that they removed the bump stops to may it lay frame on the front.
no, i just know the last color the car ever was, was white. there are pictures of it white and looking pretty, but i couldnt find them. search under rays name i dont know what it was.
