Deer Attack!!!

Sorry to hear about that JP.

I think it's just a matter of time before before those critters get one of my cars too.

It'll buff right out.

Sorry, I had to say it.:)

That must have been some big deer !! What part of it dented the fender so badly???? I can see the grill and headlight, but that fender really get dinged!!

That's a nice looking Carlisle sticker on the windshield... :D

Please tell me that you have the car fully insured...

:D -J

Sorry to see that JP, hope all the passengers were ok. I'll guess that it will be close to a "Total".

It was not a great day.

I had spent the day in OH at Dirtydog Performance getting the 4.10 gears installed with a new driveshaft and the stall converter. Like usual, it was the wee hours of the morning before we finished up and I started the trek back home.

About two hours into the trip, approximately 5AM, two deer running flank to flank (as if they were racing) suddenly ran out accross my path from left to right. There was barely enough time to lift off the throttle and hit the brakes before impact! Immediately following the cursing, I pulled off the side of the highway to assess the damage. As I was coming to a stop I heard the front tire rubbing.

The sight of the damage made me furious and sad simultaneously. I man-handled the fender to get tire clearance and checked under the hood and under the car for leaking fluids. After some deep breathing exercises I proceeded on the journey home.

At a minimum, we're looking at a grille, headlamp, turn signal housing, drivers side mirror, hood trim and fender. I'm sure the bumper will need repainted as well. I haven't had enough nerve yet to go out in the rain in the driveway and truly assess any further details.

But on the bright side, I admired the way the car drove on the way back home with the new BOC chip and improved drivetrain even though I couldn't really exercise it due to the persistant rain. :D

 Well, you have lots of spare Lincolns at home, just think of the poor guy who has no Lincolns. :D And you did not get hurt, that is the important thing :)

I am blessed in many ways. :)

I took some further pics of the carnage.

This gives you the idea of the force of the impact. I literally knocked the crap out of them!
