Boze Forged Alloy Rims going on The Mark

Thanks Max :) All the props though, need to go out to Aric Carrion with Injected Engineering. He is the one that made this build reality. I just paid the bills... Gonna have to ask Aric that offset question yourself though. I think he is keeping all the numbers under his hat for now. :)

BTW, lol, He said anyone doubting all this stuff won't fit on the Mark owes him a bottle of Crown Royal :p

Thanks, Sharon :)

JP, I do not know for sure, but Aric usually goes for OEM Ford parts first, and aftermarket second.

Exception to the rule: He tried to get me some new Ford rear calipers because I was watching him struggle with the stock rear ones from the car that had 108k miles on them and have seen better days, and I said this is nuts to try and save them when everything else is brand new.

Ryan got on the phone, and came back and said the new Ford ones were some outrageous price - like $600 or so, and did not include the bracket, and would not be here anytime soon. So, He was able to get the NAPA re manufactured Ford ones, with the brackets for way less - $200? I think.

He is also doing the sway bar end links, and whatever else he can find that looks questionable with the suspension. But for the most part, we really did not talk about any poly bushings going on the car.

I added more progress pictures to the link below. The Mark has it's new shoes on, but there are a couple more things left to do.

The front SS lines need to be installed. I think Aric might try the ones supplied in the Brembo kit. They are about 1" shorter than the stock rubber lines. He would have to make a bracket though. Or, the Classic Tube ones might still go on the car to save some time. They will be here on Tuesday.

He is also tossing around the idea to use a 1/4" wheel spacer in the rear so he does not have to modify the sway bar. If he does that, he will need to install some drag racing extended wheel studs in the rear hubs. Before all that, he is going to lower it some more to set the stance, because it is way too high right now. It appears right now, that the rear wheel will squat and disappear in the wheel well like I want it :)

Oh I justed out all the pics... thankfully Aric took plenty... that said your rear offset looks a bit too positive...

I am guestimating that it is around +40mm or so... so that 1/4 spacer would really help you set the wheels out a bit further and bring it to 35mm. But you got to be careful with that since I am not sure if you'll have to roll the inner fender to make the wheel fit. Since it has about a 1/4" lip that pertrudes on the inside of fender.

ALL DONE! THANKS ARIC, RYAN, AND TYLER WITH INJECTED ENGINEERING! :)

Thanks, Guys :)

There are some tweaks that still need to be done. The same anodized racing studs are going on the front wheels too, along with a 1/2" spacer to push the fronts out just a little more. And then off to Aric's friend to get the entire suspension laser aligned, and road forced balanced if needed, to ensure it tracks correctly, and there is no shake at any speed.

The Mark is lower now than it has ever been. Not sure if it will make it over a speed bump now.

Another thing, this is something I have never heard of anyone doing before with the stock computer... Aric reset - zeroed out the computer to not raise up the Mark real high for around town driving.

It keeps the lowered look and stance like in the photos tooling around town. I probably hosed that explanation up real good, and maybe Aric can share what he did when he posts the offset numbers for the wheels.

Those rims and stance plus the big brakes look absolutely bad ass. Probably the most complete Mark VIII out there...

Thanks Guys. I will probably get some 16-17" Mustang rims for the rear and put some slicks or DR's on it for the track. Going to try and put some Mustang skinnies on the front if they will fit with the Brembo's.

There is a specific spare for the Cobras... designed to clear the 13" rotors. For some reason they sell them for $150 a pop... I wanted to pick it up in case one of my tires failed... but I didn't see the point in spending $150 for spare wheel.

Stunning!. You took my least favorite colored Mark VIII and made it into one of the best looking Marks I've ever seen (yes thats a compliment). Looks too classy to be running the times it does which makes all the more fun when you smoke those Stangs/Vettes and Camaro's. Well done.

MIke, care to elaborate on the height fix ? Does the air suspension operates at all ? Does it lower when parked at all ?

Raising and lowering is needed to remove moisture.

$4k wheels with spacers ? ... that's a no-no in my book. The look seems to be worth it though. ;)

Aric used his Ford Star NGS tool to dig into the computer and zero out and recalibrate the air ride sensor limits to keep the stance. It still works like stock and airs up/vents - but not as much travel as before.

I have never heard of anyone ever doing that before. I asked Aric to share with everyone what he did to the air ride, along with the wheel specs when he can get around to it.

Again, I was against the spacers from the start. The wheels fit the Mark as measured without spacers - with a rear sway bar modification, and I would have been on my way.

Aric was way more critical on the stance than me though. He said - let me work with it some more to get it perfect, and I said go for it.

I think he flat out nailed it. :)

For those people interested in the amount of work it took Aric to get these Boze wheels made, he has posted all the spec's on his web site, and he also started a thread in the wheel section here. I posted a link to it below.

Thanks to Aric for sharing this info, and I hope it helps you with your wheel making decisions!
