So for any and all who might care...I did manage to put the car back together...
I was sick all of last week, so hanging out in my cold garage wasn't too high on the list of things to do, but by the end of last weekend I was feeling up to fixing it...
Here is the crossover tube after a lot of grinding the paint and rust, mostly rust, off of it...

A close up of the crossover tube which I painted flat black, I think it looks better in person then in the pictures.
Better get the right side clamp up on the neck of the crossover tube or its going to get messey in there when that sucker blows off. Im assuming this is the finshed pics?
BTW, Good job on jumping into this and hitting it headon. Looks good, I was late on the mystery piece but knew it right off what it was, but Xillerate beat me to it. If you duct tape a wooden wire brush at the end of the shop vacs skinny attachment, you can quickly clean and suck at the same time, knocking debris loose, and sucking it up before it goes into deep caverns and knooks and crannies. Just do it slow and pull it towards ya in little strokes. works pretty good.

Actually both the clamps were not where they should have been... and I figured that out after a little drive when I got back and wondered where all that steam was coming from...
that was of course after figuring out how many things I'd forgotten to plug back in, like the coolant temp sensor, TPS, and some other thing... I forget what it was called... Thanks, not sure I'd choose to do this particular fix again, but I suppose its easier the next time around...
